Congratulations, try this one. Pray before you go to sleep. Like kneel down like you’re entering the presence of a god and thank him and ask who the highest god is and what his name is. I’m not going to spoil it for you but I prayed that the most high would reveal himself to me and he did and it totally changed my life forever.

@@Draugheim you know what you got a point. Odin the powerful Allfather being an impotent cuckold who's wives cheat on him 24/7 while he fails utterly to slow Ragnarok while setting it in motion is very ironic and is maybe some good storytelling, however I'd argue God laying down the law on the jews and Elijah going to war with an army of human sacrificing cultists is pretty rad as well. @@Qurulla almost. The Aesir made a deal with someone to build a wall to protect Asgard against the Jotun within an impossible deadline. If he succeeded, he would get Freya's hand in marriage. The guy was about to actually finish the wall in time. In order to prevent that, Loki transformed himself into a mare and seduced the stallion of the wall builder. Without a horse he couldn't carry all the stones from the quarry to finish the wall. Few months later, Loki gave birth to an eight-legged horse which was eventually gifted to Odin.

ive heard many of these tales before- some details are differant, but the general meaning and outcome is the same. except the tale of thor and loki in the city of the giants. the tale that is told here is the same as the one that ive heard before except that its not complete. thor, loki, and the boy where indeed defeated in every test and contest they partook, but in the end its revealed that magic had been used against them. the human boy was racing against the wind and was fated to loose no mater how fast he ran, though he had run faster then anyone else the giants had ever seen. loki had lost the eating contest to fire which consumes all things at terrible speed, though loki had eaten more and faster then any of the giants had ever seen. the horn that thor had drank from was filled with all the oceans of midgard and was far too much for any person to drink, though thor had lowered the ocean levels around midgard by many feet. the cat that thor tried to lift was jumogand, the world snake and thor had frightened the giants because he had nearly pulled the snakes tail out of its mouth which would have ment disaster for everyone, and the old crone that thor wrestled was time it self which no being can defeat, but will wear everyone down in the end. except that the old crone wasnt able to wear thor down completely. once this is all revealed to him and thor realized he had been cheated and humiliated, thor tried to smash the giant king's head in with mjolnir, but the giant king uses more magic to disappear before thor can strike him

Ok so I’ve been playing Assassins Creed Valhalla. And that story about the horse and the man asking for Freya as his wife was in the game. Honestly if you are pagan I definetly recommend giving assassins creed Valhalla a chance. I once considered myself a Christian but i got tired of a perfect god that contradicted himself every second so now I’m exploring paganism and the imperfect gods. I like it much better tbh.
@sonnygivens4549

Yea I thought the same thing ... I hadn't heard that story specifically before playing Valhalla and when I heard this story I immediately thought of that (tho I have only played like one or two missions into Asgard so I don't know how closely it follows the story past meeting the builder) most people are not too crazy about odyssey and Valhallas direction but I actually enjoy them adding the mythological aspect ...since most of what we know about history that far back is going to have only a little truth the rest is just embellishments made to make the story better ... History that far back is like one giant game of telephone... Also, I have never been religious myself. But I enjoy the gods of Greek and Norse mythology ... And one of the few things I respect about the Romans is how they would add others gods into their pantheon, they didn't insist on there only being one God like Christians do ... It feels like the Greek and Norse mythology is accepted as what it is ...guiding stories to teach people things...to give people hope and morals ... But Christianity insists in making you believe and not believe anything else... And that the Bible is fact ... But that's just how I feel about it ... I wouldn't read the Bible at night to my kids ... But I would tell them stories of Norse and Greek mythology ...but not as fact . Just as stories to teach them morals and values and how to just exist in this confusing world...not make it even more confusing by adding a scary vengeful sky daddy that sends you to hell if you're bad or not baptized or born out of wedlock and so many other things ... Norse and Greek mythology is just so much less intimidating...at least in ,2021 haha... but if there were people still sacrificing to the gods I wouldn't be saying the same thing hahaha

@@sonnygivens4549 the bible does not say there is only one god it says put no other god before me. Meaning there is more than one. In Norse and Greek and in the Egypt gods there's is always a god of gods or father of the gods. The bibles story's I believe are true just like all other religions. Everything as similar story's and it's hard not to believe one without believing another or all. Now every detail may not be correct but to think that all these miraculous things are just fairy tales dumb founds me how people don't believe.

God Father Pronounced as:Dzeupater modern phonetic spelling: Jupeter/Jupiter. The "saul and mani" or however you'd like to spell that, it sounds terrible but understandable I guess. Sol och måne is what I'm guessing it reads. The "o" in sol is like the "oo" in tool. The "å" like "au" in maul, or if you like to confuse yourself, like the way sol was pronounced.

I really liked this reading until some of the details I heard weren’t the same. The first one being when Idunn was taken by a giant. When Loki went to get her she was turned into a nut, and not into a sparrow, at least that’s what I’ve always heard. I feel the small details are important and I’m not sure why they were changed. Maybe the stories I’ve heard were wrong? Does anyone have any thoughts?

There are several versions of the same stories. That's why. Most of these are remnants of oral tradition after all.

That's the thing about oral tales/tradition, the general thrust of the stories remain the same, but some details can diverge.

You really get a different view of the Norse gods when you consider the time that Loki got his back blown out when he had to shape shift and pretend to be a beautiful mate to seduce a mighty stallion. 😂
