We live just over the line in Tennessee. I have been wanting to do some fishing over around Boone, Asheville and Roan Mtn area of NC but I wanted to make sure I understood the regs. I never keep fish and use only single hook artificial lures so neither of these would be a problem. Thanks to this great video I feel confident that I understand the the regs. The Wildlife Agency should use this video on their website. Great job and will be shopping at your shop in Boone pretty soon. Have shopped once before on a weekend and you guys were so busy I didnt bother with questions....thanks for this great video sir.

At 48 years old, I'm just now getting into fishing. I love visiting the forest and streams and thought fishing would be a great opportunity to combine these things. The more I read, the more confused I've become though until I found this video. Very helpful....

What about fishing where there is no posted reg? - I'm looking at the fishing areas map and notice there are plenty of waters not highlighted - like the French Broad for example

Excellent breakdown of the regs on these streams! Thanks for posting this, it will help a lot of anglers!

Awesome video with great information. It boggles my mind & aggravates me to no end when I see anglers breaking the law. Unfortunately, many ignore the laws & many are willfully ignorant of the law. Well done!

Carolina Woods-n-Water it’s unfortunate but all we can do is understand the regulations and watch out for people who are breaking the rules.

Hi liked your video allot. I'm from PA and we have similar rules. After watching your video I'd say October would be the best time to fish your delayed harvest. I only fly fish with a 3wt catch and release single hook no barb. What's you take on the best time to come down and do some fly fishing? Thanks

Ok. So when it opens in June, after the youth only, then can you fish the delayed harvest stretches with bait and a spinning rod for catch and keep?

Thank you. I needed this. But what if a stream isn't marked at all? The stream coming into Todd comes to mind. It isn't marked, there are not any trespassing signs and the guys hanging out at the restaurant said it's okay to fish. So why isn't anyone fishing it? Are they setting me up?

The stream near me has both diamonds stating hatchery supported and Trophy trout water showing conflicting information one says you can keep 7 fish and the other trophy one says 2 over 14"

What is this mountain heritage fishing license??? You have to have it to fish in some creeks like in ash county which I fish a ton... and it's only good for 3 days at a time... so ever time I fish ash county I have to buy this mountain heritage pass... this is so freaking crazy.. what the hell are they doing
@Bsmd254 жыл бұрын
Bro, you are misunderstanding the rule. You can fish any mountain heritage water with the mountainheritahe license but nowhere else. But you can fish the mountain heritage waters legally with ANY license. The mountain heritage program is a way to encourage new anglers to get into fishing these waters because the licenses are only 5 bucks. If that didnt make sense there is an article that NC posted on it that you can find if you look up "mountain heritage fishing license"

What’s the real reason for the regulations? Just to keep the fish population healthy?
@jfrb05945 жыл бұрын
In a few years we will have to go fishing with a lawyer, an ecologist and an animal psychologist so the fish do not suffer from stress anymore
