North Country Trail - March 1, 2024

The month of March came in like a lamb in northwestern Pennsylvania. Every time the garage door was opened throughout my workday, sunshine and blue skies appeared. Despite being totally unprepared to take on any trail miles, I knew I had to at least take a few steps toward my 100 mile goal. To add to the lack of proper clothing or footwear for a hike, my phone did not get plugged in the night before and was “running on fumes”. But the gorgeous day called so I headed for a section of trail about 8 miles from my workplace. I decided to hike until my phone got to 2% then turn around. Well, I only made it 1 mile before that happened. So my video/GPS/mileage tracker was rendered useless. It was still a great day on an absolutely gorgeous section of trail. Now I must go back with a fully charged phone and my lunker of a DSLR camera. 2 miles on this day. YTD miles is 38.8.
