This popped up in my feed. I grew up in Gomshall and it is a stunningly beautiful area to walk. The concrete tanks above Shere are WW2 vintage. Emergency Firefighting Water Tanks. The area was used to store munitions in the run-up to D-Day

I have been to St Martha’s church and Newlands Corner many times. Went for the first time to Reigate Hill, Queens Park and Colley Hill today. That’s also on the North Downs Way and was breathtaking. Really great to see you video and parts I’ve not visited before.

Another beautiful and informative walk :D the caterpilar was a pale tussock moth caterpillar, I once found one just outside my window. I took some close up photos and enlarged them, I have to say that when seen enlarged thery have one of the most terrifying mouths in nature! Now off to watch part 2 and 3

Thank you. I do introduce them a little better in the next few videos but the spotty one is Cody and he just turned 13. The other one, with all the excitement and really waggy tail is Kye.

Yay, the doggos are back - and travelling light! As Julie, my wife says, the great thing about dogs is their default setting is ‘happy’! Not sure what the tanks in the wood were, but there are some remains in some woods near me and their use was associated with the dyemaking industry. Long since disused and barely visible unless you know where to look, they are known colloquially as ‘the chemical tanks’. Tanning is another industry that might require something of the sort.
@WilderhopeAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I thought you might like that...lots of upcoming dog footage in future videos. Lots more adventures to come.

Hi CJ - Lovely video. I am hoping to do some of this trail sometimes soon. How did you find the possibilities for wild tent camping (although I know you car camped).
@WilderhopeAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Lots of options for wild camping along the first half...way more and better stealth camping options on this so far than the South Downs Way which is a lot more open. The forest helps to provide lots of wild camp options.
