A United Nations Report recently identified fragments of missiles used by Russia in Ukraine as originating from North Korea. As a direct result both the USA and the UK have now imposed additional sanctions. North Korea has denied the accusations however the UK claims that North Korea is trading Arms for Russian Oil. The USA says North Korea is providing weapons in exchange for military support from Russia. In this video I provide full details on what has happened and look at the potential implications of these two nations becoming close from a military perspective.
For specific details please check out the CHAPTER list below.

North Korean missiles have a proven greater than 50% failure rate where they blow up mid-flight. This failure rate tracks with artillery shells, bullets and all other North Korean military assistance provided to Russia. Russia is beyond desperate that they would continue with this deal knowing just how ineffective North Korean arms are.

This was actually a disinformation campaign a few months later the consensus from the artillery crews were that they were working ok and had the expected dud rate and accuracy so I’m leaning more towards it’s going to be the same with the missiles they will most likely end up also working fine
@jpa5038

@@liljasere No, the North Koreans sent the Russians their oldest and lowest quality stock. As a result, North Korean equipment has a very high critical failure rate. That's held true since the deliveries started. And while North Korea can blame that failure rate on older stock dating back to the days of the Soviet Union, what's their excuse for freshly built missiles? Face it, a country that struggles to bake bread is not a reliable arms partner. And worse for Russia, South Korea is moving toward openly supplying Ukraine with weapons and armaments in response. And South Korea has a huge industrial base.

@@jpa5038 I’m not going to argue with you on this you could be right you could be wrong I trust the word of the people on the ground who are actually the ones using it with their lives on the line not what the news says I will wait a few months to see what they say about them, the shells were fine this isn’t some kind of deception in various groups I’m in the teams have been saying the nk shells have been working fine if you was to critique anything about RU it’s that they are probably not replacing barrels as often as you should this has a huge affect on accuracy and the danger of catastrophic failure like the whole piece detonating

First Russia strengthened NATO. Then Russia decreased it's tank and ammunition supply. Afterward Russia started efforts to reduce it's military headcount. Next Russia advanced efforts to remove weapons from North Korea. Meanwhile Russia has traded an asset of value (oil) for assets that will be expended without profit (weapons). Lastly, Russia pointed out areas where additional sanctions were needed on it's self as well as North Korea. Slow clap for Russia.

Why is there even room for new sanctions? I guess if we want to facilitate a regime change in Russia, we must sanction as much as possible. That might include innocent companies etc., but those people/companies keep the system running. It should be a 100% sanction ban, and any business that needs be conducted should be investigated on a case to case base.

Joe, while North Korea is still at war with the south, their retirement age generals have not participated in real war since 1953. Arm chair generals with a chest full of unearned war medals are as valuable as warehouses full of 50+ year old mothballed ammunition that was produced with world-renown marxist quality control. Russia is well aware of the duds included in recent shipments and their 'oil for crap' strategy will backfire on the battlefield. Regarding NK rockets, Japan might consider developing their own Patriot or Iron Dome systems and use North Korean launches as target practice over the Sea of Japan.

It's because Italy GDP includes imports from China, Russia, etc, sold at retail, even though it doesn't reflect an actual produced item. Russia's retail sector is somewhat smaller, partly because they don't import very many food items and wages appear to be low vs western countries.

Putin even confirmed this yesterday in his speech from china, stating that solutions are possible for chines banking.....and that the sanctions against chine were illegitimate....meaning the sanctions are hurting russia already. Konstantine on Inside Russia confirmed yesterday the only business deal agreed upon by both sides and signed during putins visit was 1) China will allow russia to export Jerusalem Artichokes to china, and 2) China will allow russia to export beef cartilage and beef stomachs to China. China is prohibited from sending weapons or ammo to russia. In recent years, Russia has made significant strides in developing its own military-industrial complex, producing highly effective and price-competitive weaponry. This has allowed Russia to become a leading exporter of advanced military technology. Here are some key points illustrating this development: Advanced Weaponry: Russia has developed some of the world's most sophisticated weapons systems. This includes hypersonic missiles, advanced air defence systems like the S-400 and S-500, and state-of-the-art tanks such as the T-14 Armata. Export Market: Russian-made weapons are in high demand globally due to their effectiveness and competitive pricing. Countries in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa frequently purchase Russian military equipment, contributing significantly to Russia's economy. Domestic Production: Sanctions have pushed Russia to enhance its self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The country has invested heavily in its military-industrial base, ensuring that it can produce advanced weaponry domestically without relying on foreign components. Technological Innovation: Russia continues to invest in research and development within the defence sector, leading to continuous advancements in military technology. Does NK have refining capacity or does it import refined products from Russia? If the latter, Ukraine’s campaign against Russia’s refineries could put a crimp in this trade.

Joe, thanks for your digging, I wonder how much off the books oil for gold for cash trading is going on? Perhaps impossible to know, but isn't it logical? China is currently obsessed with acquiring gold (public knowledge) and Russia needs cash and China can always use the oil.😮

Could you do some research on the Chinese “runxue”. Term for exodus bc of restrictions etc. seems like it’s in line with your interests in economics and viewers I think would be interested too. I definitely would bc seems to implicate demographics as well as the economy.

Russia's economy has experienced significant growth in recent years, particularly since the imposition of sanctions by the West. These sanctions were intended to weaken Russia's economic position, but in some respects, they have had the opposite effect. Here are some key points highlighting this trend: Diversification and Self-Sufficiency: In response to the sanctions, Russia has focused on diversifying its economy and reducing dependence on Western imports. This has led to growth in domestic industries, including agriculture and manufacturing. Energy Exports: Russia remains a major global supplier of energy, including oil and natural gas. Despite sanctions, the demand for these resources has remained strong, particularly from countries outside the Western bloc, such as China and India. Rouble Stabilisation: The Russian rouble has shown resilience. While initially hit hard by the sanctions and falling oil prices, it has since stabilised. The Russian Central Bank has taken measures to support the currency and control inflation. Trade Partnerships: Russia has strengthened its trade relationships with non-Western countries. Increased economic cooperation with nations like China, India, and Turkey has helped mitigate the impact of Western sanctions. Government Policies: The Russian government has implemented various policies to support the economy, including import substitution, investment in key sectors, and fiscal measures to stabilise the financial system. While the sanctions have undoubtedly posed challenges, Russia's economy has adapted and, in some areas, thrived, demonstrating resilience and the ability to pivot towards alternative markets and strategies.

Yes. Sanctions don’t work instantly, they have an initial impact and then go onto to have a continued impact. There will always be work arounds but it puts people off doing business with sanctioned countries. Russia is suffering and it will continue to get worse. It’s burned through a lot of its stored cash and while it does still trade some oil etc it’s declining since the invasion. Look at North Korea. Is it’s economy doing better or worse under sanctions.
