The next time she appeared on social media was a few weeks later in North Korean propaganda videos broadcast in Pyongyang. Was she kidnapped by the North Korean regime and brought back home? What led to her disappearance?

Pretty sure she ended up in a labour camp. Probably dead. Read the book A Thousand Miles to Freedom by Eunsun Kim. Her family got caught and when they were back they were sent to a labour camp and tortured. Luckily they got out again. Defectors definitely get tortured and often killed.

Kim ll Sung stared the whole Korean War in 1950. He also mass-murdered North Koreans after the war ended in '53. Documents show these things of him and these docents were released by Russia in 1994.

This is too sad to watch. Families are separated because of this. Humans are made to know each other, not to despise one another. "O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Its a very disappointing for me, if I am in the case of Heo Jun, and was told a "mercenary". Of course, its the fault of Kim Ba Boon's government that turns NoKor into an ancient one, or maybe out of this world. So I hope one day that the discrimination would be finally over.

He wrote "I am North Korean, hug me" in English and just "I am North Korean" in Korean. That should make a difference in result and he can be questioned if he has any intention.

Park Yeonmi mentioned in one of her videos if the defector is a woman, they let it slide but if it's a guy their families must have been murdered or in a concentration camp. But things might have change considering the guy from this video saying his father might be on the other side. He sounds confident like his family is doing fine.

@@matthew_natividad i don't remember the reason behind it but probably it has to do something with the patriarchal society of NK. Like, men can work more physical tiring jobs and go to military service for 10 years so they are deemed more useful than women. I might be wrong though.

38:36 mistranslation. 연변사람 is NOT mercenary. It means Korean Chinese from Yanbian area whose accent is similar (or the same) as North Korean.

I learned in another interview that North Koreans learn english from a young age in school so im wondering why these defectors who are having trouble fitting in wouldnt choose to move to an english speaking country. Most native english speakers dont know the difference between a south korean or north korean accent. To most english speakers, it's just asian.

북한 사람들은 한국인 기준으로는 난민이죠. 이 영상을 보는 다른 나라 사람들은 자국내 난민과 얼마나 잘 지내는지 돌아 보시기를 바랍니다. 어느 사회도 완벽하지 않아요. 북한 탈북민들이 한국 사회를 비판 하는 것에 대해서 냉소적인 이유는 자국도 스스로 못 고쳤으면서 이주한 국가에 대해서는 완벽함을 원하는 것 같아서 불편해 하는 것 같아요. 물론 이주민 집단도 이주한 국가를 비판 할 수 있긴 해요. 그치만 포옹 사건처럼 조작 사건처럼 영상을 만든 것은 정말 도움이 1도 안되는 행동이에요.

The reality TV defector made the dumbest mistake possible. Why the hell would you go to China(NKs closest ally) when you're wanted in NK? Not only that, but you're famous and decide to go to a border town... Who tf does that?

She sent money to her family because her dad was sick and needed medication, and allegedly a big transfer didn't get through and they told her to come to China to retrieve the money. So it might seem stupid to us, but then again, if your dad is literally dying in NK without your help...
