Hi simon welcome to the lake district, I have ridden that route many times on my whyte e160 mountain bike, I've ridden to the top of Skiddaw from Skiddaw House, with out any hiking (with the assistance of 85 Newton metres of torque I am 74 need the help) ,I can see Skiddaw from my back garden,I never tire of watching the sun rises over Skiddaw .I really enjoy watching your videos 😊

I don't believe there is a more mind-blowing country to cycle in. Stunning!

Hike a bike in the lakes mandatory, I have ridden this route on a mountain bike and it’s not really a full on mbt ride, but it is for gravel bike, the first big climb is real tester and the narrow ribbon that cuts off from Skiddaw House is pure joy and relatively remote, not many people on this section. You did well. The bit you missed is okay but your instincts were spot on you have ridden the best bits.

I’ve got that VHS tape of the C2C that you mentioned. Watched it quite a few times when I had a VHS player, of course 👍

I was brought up at the foot of Saddleback, beautiful mountain! That’s a great route, we do a slightly extended version of this one on a Emb. Superb video and superb channel! 👍

Good to see you in my old stomping ground. That route round the back of Blencathra has been popular with mountain bikers for years and I road it many times in the 90’s on a rigid mountain bike. Sections are better now as drainage was added in places. Tour of Blencathra featured in Jeremy Ashcroft’s second Mountain Bike Guide to the Lakes. Great video as always👍

Looks good, I'm up there this weekend for a walk with some friends so might be able to persuade a couple of them to come back with bikes and join me.

Seems it’s a popular route. Markus’s route also does a loop on the south side of the A66.

Fabulous video as always, looked tough in places. Loved the drone footage. Pity weather turned this summer weather been very cold and windy. Hopefully pick up soon. Look forward too next video as always 😁😁

Thanks Dave. I initially had a weird thing going on with the drone and it wasn't allowing me to do certain things. No mic ro ~SD card 🤪. TBF it's such a photogenic place it's hard to take a bad shot.

Got to hand it to you , you certainly dont try to avoid hilly terrain. The Lake District is in my opinion the nicest area of the whole uk. im not from there and i dont live there, just a regular visitor. As far as outdoor style holidaying goes the Lakes are second to none. Great video i thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done on a great effort too , thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tony. I used to be there almost every weekend because it was easier to reach than Scotland. But given the choice, we’ll, I’ll take the highlands 😁

@@alwaysanotheradventure Yeah i understand that, the Highlands are probably a bit to remote for me, i kind of like the creature comforts too so the Lakes hits the spot for me. Each to their own though it would be a boring old world if we were all the same . 👍

Looks like a great ride to me. I personally don’t think you can neatly label a ride as gravel. Some pushing does no harm. All part of the adventure and the challenge.

The ride From Hebden Bridge would be better on a mountain bike, it uses part of the Pennine Bridleway. Its in an area I used to ride before suspension and gravel bikes were a thing, but like you I take my gravel bike anywhere. I'm also pretty sure Markus didn't complete the Hebden Bridge ride as he ran out of time.

I'll have to save that delight for another day Ken. I was driving to Manchester so it was easy to call in here on my way down the M6
