They latch onto your jupiter because north node is moving in the direction in their life with their north node, and if you naturally have that in abundance which is jupiter they love that because they are heading in that direction in this lifetime.

This happened and I was the Jupiter person. It did lead me on a more spiritual path but it wasn’t positive. It was a painful break up with them that lead to me seeking spirituality. (It’s probably cause it was in the sign Ardra.)

That's often how it happens. Spirituality can be emotionally ambiguous... But if there's insight into oneself there, even painful experiences are still constructive :)

also I have an important question, if you have a bad jupiter sign, but it is in retrograde, will the retrograde sort of reverse the negative effect of it being ruled by mercury?

Retrograde makes whatever effects are expected of a placement to be amplified in one's consciousness, bringing clarity and self-awareness about it - even making it more painful initially; but you learn the lessons of that planet overtime more easily, and learn how to deal with its specific karma as it relates to your experience quicker. Whatever its nature is will still be what it is, by sign, house, aspects, strength and dignity, etc

I thought it’s the other way around. If I’m Jupiter, I help the north node to reach their spiritual path or destiny. I suppose to give them luck and knowledge to find their NN path?

Its a bit of both. But the nn in a person certainly awakens anything in touches in another, because of its drive and hunger to experience the nn. By awakening it, the Jupiter person is inclined to use it to help the nn person, and the jupiter person gains an expansion of their own awareness of it thereby.

In my opinion it wont be the same. Sign conjunctions work because both planets are being channeled through the same dispositor ie if Jupiter is at 5 degrees scorpio and the partner's Rahu is at 28 degrees scorpio that is a sign conjunction, because they're both channeled by mars which rules scorpio. If they're in the same house that doesnt blend as much in my opinion but there could be a slight resonance, this is the vedic way of understanding it.
