I really enjoyed this video; one of your best. Boy's land maybe but the standard of ploughing was just so good I really would not have wanted to be the Judge/s. The last time I did a ploughing match was with a M.F 65 with an I.H. 3XF plough back in the early 60's. Never grow tired of watching these artists at work; horse or tractor. Thank you. P.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The ploughing was difficult but most competitors made a good job.

Excellent video particularly like the taking time to show the work each ploughman,/women are doing and there were a lot of very tidily ploughed plots there 👌

There's a lot of concentration, effort, and skill that goes into match ploughing to get that perfect job done. Watching this video made me wonder what would the chap who worked for my late father have to say about the various plots and ploughmen if he saw their work on this video Bill went to many local ploughing matches in the 60's and early 70's with his Fordson Super Major and Sellar TAC plough and later on with his Ford 4000. He won several matches, and he was always very proud of all his medals that he won at various matches around Moray and Nairnshire over the years. I got his match winning plough when he got a new Massey Ferguson 3 furrow plough. God rest your soul now, Bill. Another great video for Sunday afternoon viewing from you again.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Do you still have the Sellers plough? They had a depot in Casterton many years ago. The site now has houses on it!

Great to see the horse men! My mother witnessed the change from horsepower to tractor power and growing up, we heard many horse stories in her homeplace. Your vid shows very well the giant leap forward the tractor was. Two men plus two horses to plough one furrow vs a man on his own and a tractor ploughing two which could run all day! Enjoyable vid

Great video thank you for posting. You are spot on with your comments regarding Reversible Ploughs, it can be a challenge some days, then if if you are running on top (Not in the furrow) that adds another dimension. Some really nice ploughing there, including opening and finishing. That Competion reversible plough is a nice piece of kit, amazing.

My goodness, some of those devices are complicated. It's always go forward a couple of yards, make some minuscule adjustment, go another couple of yards, make some minuscule adjustment...
