good explanation

Its the loading the front lines rather than the back lines that really explains the technique. Load the lines that attached to your harness while sheeting out allows you to then use that front line tension and add the sheeting in tension to it rather than what most people do which is just sheet in.

really interesting insight on the horizontal distance vs. height with sheeting out and getting the kite on the edge of the window. Haven't heard that in any of the other "jump big" tutorials. Struggling with translating the horizontal distance to height, so this could be very useful to try out

Very good video. But I have a question for a 12m size kite. Using it between 12 to 20 knots, I understand that the Orbit has a better low end but having 5 struts is also heavier than the Reach. Which one is the most suited for the 12m size and up ?

Thanks for the video! Could you tell me which of these kites would be more suitable for learning tricks, like jump transitions, darkslides, back - frontrolls etc.?
@MACkiteboarding9 ай бұрын
We're glad you enjoyed the video! 🤙🏽 For learning tricks like jump transitions, darkslides, and back-front rolls, you'll want a kite that offers good control and responsiveness. Go with the Reach, for sure. Good winds! -Aaron

Does the orbit lot Better on jumping high and hang time, or it s just little better? Really struggled in choosing my next north kite!
@MACkiteboarding3 жыл бұрын
The Orbit is a way better kite for jumping. You have to know how to fly a kite well to jump with the Reach. The Orbit is the "easy button" when it comes to jumping. If you are looking for a kite that will send you into the sky easily then the Orbit is the kite for you! - Cole

What can you say about the durability from the North Orbit?

Hey, guys thanks for the informations. I’ve got the orbit and I learned with a reach. Do you have an idea why the orbit often above my head in do a front stall? I am glad for some tips and tricks. Greets from Germany 🤙

I’m in between a 14m orbit and a 15m reach for my light wind kite. Dedicated twin tip rider mostly into big air and old school riding. Any suggestions?
@charlesLeeRay2 жыл бұрын
Light wind = Reach. Orbit is great when you are overpowered. IMO Orbit shines in
@MACkiteboarding Жыл бұрын
Choosing the right kite for light wind conditions can be a tricky decision, especially if you're primarily focused on big air and old school riding. Both the 14m Orbit and 15m Reach are good options for light wind riding, but they have different design characteristics that may suit different riding styles and preferences. The 14m Orbit is designed specifically for big air and freestyle riding, with a high aspect ratio and powerful performance in low wind conditions. It has a fast and responsive feel, and is designed to provide maximum lift and hangtime for big jumps and tricks. If you're looking to focus primarily on big air and freestyle riding, the 14m Orbit may be the better choice for you. On the other hand, the 15m Reach is designed as a versatile all-around kite that can handle a range of riding styles and conditions, including light wind riding. It has a more stable and forgiving feel, with a lower aspect ratio and a wider wind range than the Orbit. If you're looking for a kite that can handle a range of conditions and riding styles, and want a more forgiving and user-friendly kite, the 15m Reach may be the better choice. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your personal preferences and riding style. If you have the opportunity to test both kites in light wind conditions and see which one feels better for your riding, that would be ideal. If not, consider your priorities and riding goals, and choose the kite that best suits your needs. Good winds! -Aaron

how you guys compare the Reach to the Pulse? say for a free rider on Lake Michigan that is coming off V8 NVs and wants to learn a little bit of unhooked/wakestyle?
@MACkiteboarding3 жыл бұрын
The pulse is designed for unhooked freestyle so it has a leg up. The reach is a popular choice because it’s such a good do it all kite. If you want to do unhooked more than 50% of the time do the pulse. It’s actually kind of a do it all kite more than a freestyle kite. Otherwise the reach is fine for the occasional wake trick. The reach has a better hooked image range and a stable less responsive feel. It’s probably the best freeride all around kite these days. Really excels at everything. The pulse is like a firecracker. Responsive a little less forgiving. Less hooked in range but better unhooked range. Super light bar pressure and the loops are insane. For sure a kite for a higher level rider or aspiring one. - Rygo
