North Queensland 2022 Part 10 Magnetic Island

We are almost there. After spending a couple of pleasant hours in the park at The Strand in Townsville it is time to catch the ferry to Magnetic Island, where we will spend three nights.
Magnetic Island is mostly national park but has residential areas with a population of around 2,500 permanent residents. In recent years visitor accommodation has increased, particularly around the harbour at Nelly Bay.
This video will show you some of the island, including the military battery built there during WWII.
