I have never been to Topsail Island; but a long time visitor south, to Carolina Beach. As I watched this I became FLOORED as to the houses that are basically on the beach and the total wash out of some of the walkways, and steps to the beach. Looks like a beautiful place to visit. :-) I may stay a little further back tho.

Great video. Does anyone know if this was recorded at high or low tide?

We vacation at north TopSail every year and live in CT we really enjoy these pristine beaches and want to know how we can help you all recover from Hurricane Florence?

Passes my home at the 10:30 mark, where beach has black residue but all dunes fully intact, no escarpment.

There never should have been any building on any of the barrier islands. Humans are foolish to think they can change the nature of these islands (aka high sandbars), they have been moving for thousands of years. What a treasure they would have been to the people of NC and the US if they had been declared either national or state parks instead of the recurring and not unexpected disaster areas that act as an incentive to raise the homeowners insurance of everyone who lives on the coast.

A Squirrel Now there are too many state parks and government owned land. If they do get destroyed as you say they will, then you will get your wish. People live in houses.
