Thanks. Yes, the hills are quite steep in Wales! We basically use the same gear whether we are touring for 3 days or 10 months.

@@AndrewJohnColeman7 we have tried to reduce our load significantly. Still having some luxuries but seriously thinking what we use and how we use it. We are touring in Scotland this year!! Can't wait.

How much of your tour would be suitable for road bikes?

Most of it is suitable for road bikes. Only the Mawddach trail has gravel which may be a problem depending on what kind of tyres you have.

My wife and son have about 20kg. Mine is about 30kg because I carry the tent and cooking equipment as well.
