The uptrace is meant to be above the lead. You could end up with a deep hooked fish with a trace that long as it won’t notify your alarm until it’s moved your bait the full length of the trace. It don’t take lions to get it down them, some thing to think about

I’ve fished this water 2 times this month. All blanks. I tried on a mackerel, and lures but nothing. Hope ill catch a big one in the future. Good luck on your next trips

Thanks mate sorry I missed this reply, I find freshwater baits noticeably outfish saltwater deads on here if that helps :)

How legal is it to be so far away from your rods?

Not sure of the legality surrounding this but I've no doubt I can be on my rods more than quickly enough given the sensitivity of bite indication we use :)
