My brother-in-law dealt with that crap. He found out that the loads he ran went through 5 brokers. He got $900 for the load, but the load paid from the shipper for $3,000.

Carriers aren’t supposed to broker loads, they don’t have that authority. Some carriers also have broker MC#s. This is how it usually happens. There are such things as co-broker agreements, but the carrier that the load is consigned to is ultimately operating outside their authority by re-brokering the load. It’s something that needs to be dealt with by the FMCSA. The problem is that many of these double brokering carriers are actually operating outside the US with virtual addresses and voip phones.

I was dispatching one of my guys and I had a double brokered load where 3 brokers thought I had the load for each of them. I made all 3 db Zelle me $4k each before I can unload. I gave all 3 the BOL and let them figured it out. That load only went 993 miles. Do the rpm on that load. They where blowing up my phone for weeks. That was a good day.😊🙏🏾 I love db. You just have to know how to handle them. 😅🤗 I’m from an environment where we have to adapt real quick to this type of situations. What they gonna do, call the police and say they was performing illegal practices? 😂🤷🏾‍♂️

Notice this is only an issue to these people when it’s a carrier that does this. Brokers are taking hundreds of dollars of the top and everyone is ok with it but if a carrier passes a load to a friend it’s a crime..

The issue is more of the fact that it isn’t communicated. There are agreements trucking companies, brokers, & shippers can make. But if it is done with Ill intentions, truckers might get stiffed when it comes to payments and insurance problems can arise if there is some other MC hauling freight that doesn’t pass certain requirements.

Yup this should be illegal. But then again as a dasher I never accept anything under 2 a mile gotta cover my gas and maintenance so I will always pass on anything lower than that.

Yup, here's how it works: 1. Shipper offers load for 3000$ to broker 2. Broker offers load for 2700$ to carrier (keeps 300$) 3. Carrier offers the load for 2400$ to another carrier(also keeps 300$) Sometimes it stops there at the 2nd carrier or it keeps going it. Quite often when it's only with the 2 carriers, the 2nd carrier can get completely screwed, sometimes when he delivers the load and gets his confirmation, he gives it to his broker (that is actually that 1st carrier) and that guy gives it to the 1st broker and gets paid, with the last guy not getting paid at all

I screw up a load every other week not intentionally it just happens and as the driver I get like 2-3 different calls asking if the bills were clean but I dont answer I tell them I only talk to dispatch.

It’s more sad to me because after double brokering, this carrier who dispatch load for me alter the load rate confirmation before sends me a copy. Let’s say the real rate pay of a load is $2500.00, they will alter it and put $2200.00 or $2000.00. I assumed they think I am not aware of the scum they’re doing, so sad.

So glad I got off the load boards and leased my trucks to a ltl company. Guaranteed runs, great pay and I don't have to deal with anyone but the dispatch in the mornings to get a list of available runs. 3 minutes on the phone and my trucks are dispatched and ready for that night.

You guys are misinformed . Double Brokering is when A carrier books a load, sells it to another carrier with less rate, and keeps the rate in between. Not getting paid is scamming. Scammers hurt the business both for Actual Carriers and Double Brokers. Because double brokers mostly pay carriers direcrly because Factoring companies dont approve These carriers

QUESTION ❓ I'm getting ready to head to Wyoming to start roehl trucking paid training. Is this a good idea, are they a good company? Is there a better company that has paid training? I can't afford to go to a school for 5-9 weeks and not get paid so I need the paid training but I'll be contractually binded to them for around a year or so and that's fine, just don't want to be remorseful for that time.
