Great message Chris. Always love watching and listening to your messages here in Texas. Your comment about putting a tattoo of a cross on you body made me think. The cross alone doesn't save us. As you said, it is a symbol of suffering, shame, disgrace and a horrible death. It is the occupied cross and the empty tomb that gives us our opportunity for salvation. It's what sets the Christ follower apart from those that follow other teachings and other teachers. So when I look at the cross alone, I realize that my focus is wrong. Our focus should be on the resurrected Christ not the empty cross. Why we have turned it into jewelry, bumper stickers and emblems I'll never know. We have even had churches fight and divide over whether there should be a cross on top of their building. Absolutely ridiculous. There is a huge difference between wearing your cross and bearing your cross. One takes no effort to do and the other takes all of your effort to do. One is very easy and the other is the most difficult decision you will have to make. One has very little cost and the other cost you everything, but its reward far out weighs anything else. Keep pressing on my friend and keep using your incredible gifts. Look forward to hearing your next message. Cheers!

He was criticizing Christians who believe that being obsessed with far right political ideology is emulating Christ. “What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Have not Bible believing Christians always spoken up against evil in culture? While North Coast Church is historically silent on relevant social and moral issues in culture, which explains why Vista has become more godless as the church turns a blind eye. Rise in abortion - Chris is fine with it. Children genitalia mutilation, Chris is fine with it. Secular humanism on the rise, Chris is fine with it. As long as quite people are in the seats giving tithes and the secular world strokes his ego 👍
