Cris, everything you said is good, the North East of India is simply awesome. But one thing is not right. Hope you all will agree and try to change. I have seen youngsters from the North East coming to other places in India, and following the same kind of lifestyle etc. as they do in the North East. I dont know why people keep saying we consider NE people as different. We Indians actually refer to people from other state as "them". Keralites consider Tamilians as others. So there is nothing special about NE. Everyone knows NE states are part of India right from school as we all are taught the Indian map and states. So this mountain out of mole hill issue is wrong. It could be because of lack of proper communication with others, like the boy who said Rajasthan and MP probably heard only Northern states. But I have even heard that the hand of China is behind such sentiments amoung NE people that other Indians consider them differently, to make a divide. Let me point this out to my brothers and sisters from NE (i have many NE friends and i have been there once), if a North Indian was to walk on the streets of Kerala, people will look at them. So people looking at you is not a bad thing. Its just natural curiosity. If a new or rare car passes by on the road, every one will look. It is so natural. Why think negative? A Kashmiri does not look like a Tamilian, A Rajasthani does not look like someone from Orissa, so to say that NE ppl dont look like Indians is pretty foolish. Yes, it is true that NE ppl have more resemblance to the Chinese people as far as the race goes. But then many Indians look like Middle Easterners! Race overrides political boundaries. So we should not mix them both.
