Lol! I remember last Ensiferum show in Toronto, I yelled out to Pertri “Play some Norther song” to what he replied - Dude you are in the wrong show-. I couldn’t agree more; just grow up boys and do a show together. For the money, for the fans or whatever the f****. But we need Norther back.

Damn...how i used to listen to this band non stop. One of my favorite bands back in 2007, got me through rough times 🤘. I just had this crazy idea, what if he can be a temporary guitarist/ vocals for COB 👀 that's some wild idea i just had. He's Finnish and has those screams like Alexi L.

Norther at Wacken 2007 was my main act. I kind of miss them, even found them a tad better than Children of Bodom the band which got me into extreme metal in the first place. This song specific is great, and a good inspiration for me mentally (lyrics) back then.

There's no reunion without Kristian Ranta, he composed most of their songs. The problem is I believe he quit music business completely and is now the CEO of Meru Health, a US-based company focused on mental health.

I attended a smallish health seminar where Kride was a speaker back when they were making glucose monitors or something like that. To this day I regret not going up to him and telling how much they've done to mental health in Norther and that he shouldn't give it up... I bet it wouldn't have changed a thing and might've been awkward but.. it still keeps popping up in my mind :D

Im going to leave a comment on this now, since the whole Warmen news and album have dropped and just hours ago we learned there is a new band Crownshift with Jukka, Daniel and Heikki! Didnt even mention the fact that there are 3 former Norther members! My thing is Norther is just as important as every other band in the finnish scene, they may have been treated as a red-headed step child to other bands but they were in mandatory rotation for me in the early and late 00's and was pissed after Petri left and eventually disbanded. Honestly i think it has more to do with Ranta than anything else, as he was not present torwards the end. But take the end of COB as a reference point, dont let animosity ruin the time you have left. I get they are all busy too, but come on, we already lost COB (although Warmen being the spiritual successor fills a void.) Lets get back Norther! Kiuas already did!

He is the worthiest man out there in my opinion. My only problem is that most COB fans wouldn't accept it. Just like Aleksi Sihvonen wasn't accepted as Lindroos' replacement.

I'm also not sure the Bodom name should be taken over. I loved them, but I think we should face it. The Bodom story ended the way it was fair to end. Honest with the fans, dignified, graceful, scythe raised high. With their songwriter gone, any attempt would end up as damage to this dignity. It's time for those who idolized them to appear on the bigger map. Petri Lindroos was one of the founders of the first generation of these musicians. More should come. Just like Alexi Laiho showed his admiration to his idols, they should give him the same. Making great music using what they learned from him. Like Aleksi Sihvonen did with Imperanon.

Wouldn't say it was a emo look, it's a European gothic vibe, much more brutal then poser punk kids. Also so different then bodom this has a power metal foundation. Bodom is more thrash based. Yes Bodom and Norther are in the same genre but they couldn't be more different. Yes I agree they missed out by breaking up, the N album was way ahead of it's time and if they knew how widely accepted the N album and circle regenerated would be and how much the metal community has missed them I don't think petri would have left. I bet they will release a norther album with petri at some point in the future
