Loved this! I happened to scroll across the awards for bird photographs of the year, the winner being a sad exhibit of birds laid side by side in circles, larger birds in the middle and colors/breeds next to one another. Each circle got larger and wider as the birds got smaller. It was to provide a harsh image of a very small number (4000) that flew into windows of buildings costing them their lives. Patricia Homonylo is the conservation photojournalist who won. As I scrolled through the article the pictures were absolutely brilliant! The one with this bird, a bird I had (clearly) never heard of or seen, being I'm native to landlocked Colorado. The picture taken of this bird was so striking that I dove farther landing here. 😮😮 What a cool, informative homage and loving tribute to a beautiful species ❤️ Thank you for this.

I saw them down at bempton cliffs in scarborough this april. I don't remember seeing them diving or anything, but I loved them. they're so huge it feels more like watching pterosaurs flying around than birds, and the way they ride the wind currents feels so different to the garden birds I usually see. it's so interesting finding out finely-tuned they are to living like that.

Excellent content. I had no idea they had those great adaptations for diving underwater. They're beautiful birds.

I’ve been in the ocean, surrounded by them, they are one of my favorite birds because of that experience. I passed by a Gannettry called Little Skellig, where I believe ~70,000 nest. They are indeed noisy but its an amazing time to be surrounded by them and see them dive
