3:27. Me and my friends had a sleepover and we decided to play manhunt and have a water balloon fight. First we played manhunt and when we did we heard loud footsteps throughout the tall grass, we still don’t know what it was but we were near the prison. We got scared and took a break. For whatever dumb reason we decided to go back out and do the water balloon fight. We filled balloons and did a round. The second round all my friends went inside except for one. That one friend wanted to 1v1 me so we filled another batch of water balloons. As we were filling them up we began to hear yet again more loud footsteps and then a sound just like the time stamp I put. Sounded like a horse whinny mixed with laughters. Now I don’t know what the noises were from or the footsteps but I doubt it’s this owl so we ran inside and never came out till the afternoon. Scariest experience in my life. Idk why I posted a whole life story but i really wanted to post it

40 years ago we moved to a rural area in nw PA. A female built her nest in a wooded place very near our driveway. We were careful to allow our children to only peek with a check once a day. She was so well camouflaged that it was a challenge finding her! Once the babies hatched, we never saw them again. It was a thrill I’ll never forget!

I'm so delighted to see your video. I am 71 years old. I learned about the Galapagos and Boobys when I was in the 8 years old in the 4th grade. I decided then I would visit the islands for all the wonders AND to see the Booby. Fast forward to when I was 33. My husband had been in the Peace Corp in Ecuador! We went on a trip. He re-connected with all his friends from 20 years ago, and we went to the Galapagos. One of my most precious oarts of my life.

Grackles are pretty smart.. I’ve been watching them scope out the cat food for a tame stray and they work as a team to confuse and scare the cats. They will antagonize and take turns sneaking food. They also started swooping about head height while making a very loud and awful sound to spook the cats. lol they are menace I swear. God bless

Cool Visitor Flock. I have some, and they've kicked lawn to bare and frozen earth. Pheasants and Bobcats always drift through, in their wake.

I used to work at the airport in Brownsville tx, and there was a grackle there with one leg, that would come real close to me to get snacks. I always wondered how he lost his leg.

Geese do a lot of training before heading south. Building muscles, training for formation flying, following leaders, etc. These are local flights, so can be aiming for a certain area to teach, say, skills at landing and taking off, or just meandering to get flight time. Canada geese demonstrate some intelligent flying skills. As I watch, say, Sandhill cranes, they seem to rank lower in the IQ pole. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

I love Canadian Geese but they never fly over our country 😭
@jackvoss584112 күн бұрын
@ G’fay, Diane. One day, I had just lifted off the runway, my wings were, say, 50’ above the ground, and a young Canada goose appeared just in front of my right wing. It got a VERY surprised look on its face; I did too. I banked left to raise the right wing, the goose dove and we missed each other. My guess is that the goose was scared as all get out, and had a story to tell its grandkids? Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

I live at the 33rd parallel in Southern California. We have many Canada geese in this area. When I started feeding them and the wild ducks several years back, I noticed that these geese were here year-round. Sometimes they would have juveniles around during the fall, and you can see that they weren't ship shape enough to migrate. I think the geese have things down. They spend a lot of their time in a local park that has man-made ponds. From there they go to various Fields later in the afternoon, where you can see them digging for grubs with their beaks. Before dark, the leaders start honking and they get into formation to travel to the places where they sleep at night. A lot of them spend the night in the park. There's a gated amphitheater with a high metal fence. You can see them in there at night. They're fastidious enough not to poop in there.

A new bird caught my eye near the feeder today. Then I saw another; a pair! My research showed that they were catbirds. The beautiful blue-gray body and the blackish tails were all could see at the time. I learned that it is cousins to the state bird of Texas, the mockingbird. It was an exciting site to see them for the first time!
