When we were in Ireland 3 yrs ago. I think we had seafood chowder and soda bread almost every meal. 😋 Goes great with an Irish pint ! 🍺 ☘️ Johnny foxes was our favourite pub. Very old with an Irish dance music show ❤️ Jamesons whisky was a great tour.

A little tip for Americans visiting Ireland. If you are renting a car I would highly recommend spending that little bit extra and getting an automatic. That's unless you drive a manual in the states of course. You're already dealing with sitting on the other side of the car, on the other side of the road, and driving on roads a tiny fraction of the width you're used to, it's probably best you don't add in the extra complication of shifting gears with your left hand. You're going to want to keep both hands on the wheel for as much of the time as possible.

As I'm from NI, I know these places very well. My first visit to Carrick-a-Rede was long before the National Trust took it over, and to get to it you had to cross over the fields from the main road. The bridge had only one side roped, and there was only a single plank to walk, so it was quite terrifying for the first time. Today, that same feeling just isn't there because it's been made to cater for visitors, not fishermen. The Giant's Causeway - again - has been made so touristy, and does not give the experience of it's true character. Where you walk down the road from the main building, there was no nice wall on the right; however, there used to be an ageing old chap who sat there carving the red sandstone in figures and replicas of the coast - sadly now long gone. Personally, I think the charge they make is consistant with what's going on everywhere, i.e. a general rip-off, even though the money goes back into protecting the area. The best way (especially for those like me who have visited the place many times), is the free way down through the car park; but to get the real full experience, you need to leave the main rock formation and take the path up the cliff side to see the structures further up, like the Giant's Organ (not what you might think!!), and the spectacular views which can actually make you giddy! The path will take you for miles, but you only need to go a few hundred yards for the experience. I'm glad you enjoyed my favourite part of the world!

The Causeway Coastal Route is a name that is new. It was thought up by PR people to funnel tourists to the North Coast and avoid the Glens of Antrim. The Tourist Board is still full of Loyalists who are still bigoted against the people of the Glens, who they see as the enemy because they are Catholic and want a united Ireland. The road has always been called the Antrim Coast Road, which does include the beautiful Glens of Antrim but they don't want the people there to have any tourist money. Bigotry is dying out but not in some institutions.

Glad that you came to visit Western Britain. Western Britain as an island is home to the western Uk and ROI. The British people are indigenous to all British isles. The irish celt/Gael came as an invading coloniser pushing the indigenous western British people northwards and eastwards on the island. The irish have created this erroneous history and propaganda that they are native to the British isles. This does not stand up to scrutiny as on closer investigation you realise that the irish Gael/Celt is indigenous to the Near East specifically the Caspian sea area. The weather is British Weather. Most people in what you call NI identify as British, the irish reside in the ROI.
