Excellent video and adventures here in the Yukon!! I see you are enjoying my favorite beer - Ice Fog!! I know all too well the frustration of using barbless hooks - it applies to many lakes here in the Yukon as does the 26 to 39 inches slot limit. One of the long standing mysteries of the area is the missing Skymaster C-54 with 44 people on board (missing since January, 1950).....last heard from at the small airstrip you passed by.

If you jig with spoons and put a swivel between the hook and the spoon, the fish can't use the weight of the jig to throw the hook. Thats a downside of the tube jig. You should always use barbless when catch and release fishing. Never underestimate a tip up when laker fishing, dead baits oftentimes catch the monsters. Great vid as usual thanks
@luluwan52129 ай бұрын
Well, that propane stove for the hot tent was a new one for me: wondering how much that stove weighed(but good for you guys not having to fool with wood everyday). Great fishing, tho, but still waiting on part 2 for the super lunkers!

Absolutely superb content as always, thanks for delighting us with your epic explorations, wish I could start my life over again and know about such possible adventures. Just curious about something. What do you plan to do when they'll take away gas and force ppl to switch to electric vehicles ? (And don't ask me who "they" are...) If anyone will be able afford such luxury... I know it's not feasible for places like Alaska, Canadian wilderness, even Scandinavia where they had to recharge electric buses with diesel generators (LOL). Just wondering how we'll get around in subzero temps, will your trips still be possible ? Have you given any thought to this impediment ?

As an Alaskan I can just say they won't be banning gas vehicles any time soon.

Banks, I dint know if I would call it very monotone but we are out on a large lake and the mountains aren’t as dramatic here as in other places in the Yukon.

That's tough with the camera fogging up. Did you have to use 2 cameras? and keep them either inside or outside? What is the size to keep or rules there for eating the fish. I like the snowmobile ride in cheers.
@JimBairdAdventurer9 ай бұрын
Ya, that was brutal. The go pros weren’t so affected but I kinda needed all of the cameras inside. Then, overnight, they’re going to get cold again. So, there are things you can do to mitigate it but it’s hard to avoid. In this area, it’s barbless and you can’t keep anything over 26”.

Ok, conservative area… still I would like to eat one if I went to all that effort. 😊

Agreed. That’s why all I said was I was in the Yukon, no mention of the lake’s name or even what part of the Yukon I was in. There is a lodge on it named after the lake and they promote it at trade shows etc., however, I’m guessing they have something to do with the conservation fishing rules there. Barbless, limit 1 under 26” and what not.
