Off-Grid Cabin Life in the Winter Forest - E.2 - Ice Fishing Trek & a Fine Wild Feast: in the afternoon I headed out to fish for lake trout through the ice. First thing in the morning though, the cabin propane cook stove wouldn’t work because of the freezing rain and temperature fluctuation. We had to pour hot water on the propane limiter to thaw it and in order to get the propane heat working and cook breakfast. In the meantime, we kept the off-grid tiny home warm with an electric heater powered by a gas generator. We ate back in and eggs late and the kids were content so we relaxed into the afternoon. We had a Trout feast that night and went for a family trek the following day where we over the fire-cooked lunch and caught a Brook Trout / Speckled Trout on a winter bushcraft survival fishing rod. We enjoyed an epic wild feast that night and walked home the following afternoon in a heavy snowfall.

As long as he gets the things that make his heart sing, he's pretty chill. Your boys are growing up heading out with mom and dad, so that's all they know. So damn cool!
