Forty years ago Canadians came together with love, caring and donations to help others in the world who were less fortunate! ❤💓💝

This song, together with Do They Know It's Christmas, resonates to me more than We Are World. Just to me, my own opinion on the music. I guess it's because the lyrics were still kinda poetic, not quite in-your-face literal about the whole purpose. Each time i hear this, OMG, i get goosebumps. Bravo, David Foster & CoWriters and the vocalists All!

This song needs to be broadcast for the whole world to hear. It’s a far better song than “We Are the World”. And aside from that, “Tears Are Not Enough” is a much more sincere title. (The title was suggested by Bob Rock who turned Metallica into a boy band the following decade, but that’s a tale for another day.) People slammed Bryan Adams a lot, but at least he’s recognizable, whereas I can’t even tell half the people who are nominated at the Junos (never mind the Grammys) these days. Bryan Adams may be a wackadoodle, but he knows a good cause when he sees it. Everyone who sang on this record should be proud of themselves. They wanted to bring peace and love to those who needed it…I know our own nation needs it (especially if we want Trudeau to go).

I love this song and have looked at many different versions on YT - this is by far the clearest video and audio, and the subtitles are nicely done. Thank you!

Nice to see this again after (likely) almost 40 years of seeing this on CBC's VIdeo's Hits with Samantha Taylor. Lots of artists took part in this that I was not aware of. The cast of SCTV?! - how cool was that. Terry David Mulligan is in the video behind the control board. Noticed he did not get a mention in the credits!

Hadn't heard it in such a long time.. Where did the time go ? BTW, I always found it odd that Luba wasn't involved... She was one of the most proeminent Canadian female singers by then.

There's something waxy about the appearances of so many people here that it's almost as if it's being performed by a lineup of tribute artists. It's a nice tune and the sentiment was fine, but songs like this laid the groundwork for the overly-emotive style of singing that has sucked the subtlety and life out of the pop music charts. When you watch these artists perform, most of them are making their vocals more about themselves than the overall message. "Sure there are people starving to death but man I'm really enjoying a chance to play the diva!"
@CrosscutFilmsSask2 күн бұрын
@@marywoelfle6971 I get what you're saying about the skin appearance. It's much easier to reintroduce film grain that gets lost in the upscaling process on a clip that was originally shot on film but this was originally shot on video so it never had any grain to begin with. I'll have to experiment with reintroducing some digital noise to lessen the effect in the future. Appreciate the feedback!
