Hello Green Bastard , I enjoyed this video as it is always great to see railway footage filmed from this era , the 80's and 90's were a special time and I love the old locomotives in here along with the freight cars and ONR passenger cars. Excellent footage. "Decent" as the Green Bastard would say.

The TEE coaches used to go past my place in the city every day. I never did get much video of them. One of the coach sets from the ONR is back in Europe somewhere. RTFO!!! GB

@@CGBS4744 Yeah, the Dutch wanted their pile of junk back... The train crew on these old, extreamly used Dutch TEE's had to add oil to it as it rolled along to replace the engine oil that it burnt and went out the exhaust stack, you knew it was coming or just left your train spoting position as the whole area was coverd in blue sooty smoke that lingered for at least 10 minutes before it cleared while you puked in the bushes from the stink.. These were yellow Dutch TEE sets that were permanently BLACK from the soot!.. Finally the locomotives gave out, no parts available, then we found out that nothing we had in our roster of locomotives would work with the cars, so we had to EXTENSIVELY modify our old F units permanently to pull these unique Dutch cars.. What a G of O disaster, I bet you that the Government got this junk at scrap prices from the Netherlands, just like the scrap submarine's we purchased from England, where on sunk and the other one caught fire and sailors died for nothing while being deliverd to Canada across the Atlantic Ocean.. We like to shop the back lots of every country for old dilapidated wrecks for our modern needs, cuz we can't buid anything annymore on our own... This is our modern Kannaduh.

Does anyone knows what horn was mounted on the Northlander EMD FP7? K3L? Thank you for the nice video😎

Originally all of ONR's GMD FP7's were equipped with Nathan Airchime M5 horns from the factory. When the M5's were phased out in the late 60's/early 70's, they were replaced with Nathan Airchime K3L's. RTFO!!! GB🤘

@@CGBS4744 Thank you very much. 😉 The Northlander was originally equipped with the diesel locomotive (6 axles) of the TEE train. A different horn and bell was also installed in Canada on these locomotives. Do you happen to know if those were Nathan K3L's too? Thank you very much greetings from switzerland. PS: in this video you can hear the horn at 19:17. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZqvnKakiKiEr8k

@@CGBS4744 Man, I remember these when I was little living in the Soo. Any more railway crossing videos from your visit to the Soo? I wanted to see what Wellington St W or Queen St W near the bridge looked like when I was a kid.

For a hand-held camera, these clips are excellent. Love trains. We have the Providence/Worcester in our neck of the woods. Have you ever seen the Doris Day film, "It Happened to Jane?" Fun train movie, much of it filmed here in Connecticut... check it out sometime.
