@BassHunter ... I'd like to see Northern Soul become popular in the USA. This type of dancing is great for people who want to get on the dance floor but may not have partners. Why should they sit on the sidelines watching couples dance? Plus, the different clothing styles are part of the image and fun. Anything goes.

Deb, this was all many years ago and only in the North West of England. It started with Motown nights at the Wigan Casino club
@fettlerjohn34192 жыл бұрын
Well said Deb its great for lifting ones spirit. Being a northern English lad I was bought up with northern soul and when I was in the US I couldn't help myself but get on the dance floor as soon as I heard some soul or motown and get lost in the music, you get some funny looks at first but you soon find folks filling the dance floor smiling. ☺

@KeithRowland ...The point is a group of adults getting together and having a good time. It's not meant to be an opportunity to show off one's rhythm.

They aren't like the people in the US, we dance with partners, not by ourselves. That's really weird. Plus old people in baggie pants, LOL.
