I haven't had pop tarts in a long time. Those sounds great for a bike ride. Thanks for sharing Vermont. It is beautiful.

That's my mom who is the docent of the Chester A. Arthur birthplace. She ~does~ know her stuff :) She's always telling me little facts and tidbits. She lives a mile away from the birthplace, in the house I grew up in that my dad built, so all those roads (the Dodd Road and East Fairfield) are all where I grew up. It's very nostalgic for me, and a lovely video. My mom is the best person ever, and she's really happy to be in this video!

@UFOPaefums Your mother was fantastic. We really enjoyed our time there. I have more footage of her, and plan to create a searate video just on what we larned from her.

Wow this was a wonderful day in the Saddle! We would love this trail it was so great that you could stop and check out the house and learn about it then go have burgers and ice cream. Our friends do a lot of the big biking events and we were doing Marathons and to see that they could eat like that every time they stopped made us jealous. It was neat to see the old depots and the old engines. It was a good day looked like you had good weather after all and dodged the bad weather. It was a perfect and entertaining trail! Well done!

Bikepacking is like RV’ing with the engine. 🤔 Well maybe that’s a stretch. My point is that you can stop and see things along the way and it becomes a journey. Some of the best days when we are RV’ing are when we just ramble around. I know you get it. These people little towns aren’t on anyone’s must see list, but if you’re in the area you’re going to enjoy spending a few minutes there. Thanks for stopping by.

The new LVRT/MVRT is a wonder. I've ridden many a mile and some of the sweetest are here. There are many interesting dirt roads to be found just off the trail (Highgate/E. Fairfield) with very little traffic. Enjoy the North Country!

Hi John. Another great video, both from a scenery perspective, but with your excellent narration and the captions describing what we were looking at (river, street, road, etc.). From a "documentary" perspective, I doubt anyone could top what you've done here. Impressed with all you went through physically on this long day as well. Look forward to the remaining video(s) of this trip. Keep up the great work John!

Ken it was a wonderful day especially after the rain on the previous day. I was blown away by the Vermont scenery. It was a long day in the saddle for sure. I like to put some perspective into each of my videos and that why I do a fair amount of narration. One more video on this trip but my freinds Ian, Mike and I will be joined by two more for an epic 10 day trip from DC to Pittsburgh in September of this year. Hope all is well with you and your family. Take care.

I ride in southern Vermont, Rutland County. Mile upon mile of gravel and class 4 roads. Can't be beat.

@jonathanbenn2241 I have heard there is a lot of gravel in that area. I have also ridden in the Green Mountain National Forest near Wilmington.

Another well done video. At Pumpkin Village Rd if you looked up the gray house on top of the hill is were I live. Have to climb that hill at the end of every ride. Your videos should be used to promote the trails. Very well done and well balanced content, Take care, Al

I am looking to do the trail this summer! I hope to do the whole trail one way in three days! I would start in St Johnsbury and head west! Any info on where to stay and stop would be appreciated .
@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA5 ай бұрын
@TimothyKoperek that sounds like a great time! I think you will find there are a few commercial campgrounds and a state park that will work for bikepacking. Morrisville also may have some overnight lodging.
