That snow machine makes me smile every time I watch it in your videos. It flys in the face of conventional design. Instead of two skis and one track, it’s got one ski and two tracks. 😄😄😄 Cheers! Whipple

At least you can get some firewood :) our geothermal unit is still down... 2 weeks today... I don't think I've been this cold for so long in my life. I even pulled the liners out of some old winter boots to act as warmer slippers... next I'll be needing those warmers in the bottoms of the liners... You are the Grandmaster of fixing things in adverse conditions. Heather was a trooper to film it all.

If it weren't for bad luck you would have no luck at all. It has to improve old man, keep a stiff upper lip. For God's sake don't force it, get a bigger hammer! There must be a quite large polar vortex as the Sault has the exact same weather pattern. Now you deserve a good hot cuppa, away with the pair of you. I would wager I felt as happy and proud as you when I watched your arse disappear down the drive the first run. Mike

Holy cow. Great job. If I lived there I’d have to have two or three snowmobile’s and a heated garage because if it’s below 37 or38 degrees Fahrenheit or about 3°C, I don’t think I’m tough enough to do that. 😂😂 I love fixing things but I can’t do frozen like that. Lol

Hi Cecil and Heather!! 😀😀 It really stinks when things are rusted solid and it's below zero outside. I always try not to tell you what you need to have. But as much old stuff you work on that is rusted solid. You really need a oxygen asetaleen torch. ( please excuse my spelling) Those little propane torches just don't get things hot enough Especially in the really cold weather. If you can get the seized parts out. You can lay it in the coals in the wood stove and heat it up cherry red. If I had enough money I'd send you one. Take care my friends!!😀😀❤❤

That small lift you're using looks very much like the Hoyer patient lift, I used at the first nursing home I worked at as a young man. It was rated at 180 kg lifting capability, just shy of 400 lbs, and yours could be in the same range for lifting an engine out of a car. A handy piece of equipment to have on a homestead.

An insight working in the snow! You have rust cold and snow. In my part of Australia we don’t get snow and very rarely ice forms. Working in freezing condition is an extra challenge to be met. You guys doing it admirably.

Reminds me of lying down on an icy driveway, trying to install a starter on the old 3/4 ton Chev, not a difficult job until you take into consideration the ice and minus 25 C. Know I can’t wear gloves either.

@@SkinnersHomesteading Thanks, I was able to work a little on it today and I noticed that the rear sprockets are tight to the right side of the track windows.Going to pull them out and see if there is any way to center them better. Hopefully that will get the track clear of the tunnel.

Question for you, on the snowmobile it sounds very loud, on the video it sounds almost like a spoon in a garbage disposal. When the engines running what makes that loud hard clanking slapping sound? It seems to quiet down after it heats up a little bit but I’ve noticed that several times in videos with older snow mobiles 🤔
