Some more tips NL: 1.If you hold UP and jump then throw an item, you get ridiculous vertical distance, works great when tasked with an arrow trap next to a ladder. 2.If you get a ridiculously unfair "I can't see a thing" level, turn the game brightness way up, it creates a more viable game play experience. 3.if a damsel is on a rope worthy ledge, try and hit the damsel with a projectile to make them walk off the ledge right to you. 4.A glitches unlimited Matlock is more valuable tool.

the Tunnel Man becomes a playable character once the player unlocks all 4 Challenge Rooms. He plays exactly like the Spelunker, with one difference: instead of a whip, he uses an unbreakable mattock as his default attack. This allows him to smash through walls effortlessly, but makes it difficult to attack while jumping - the trick is to begin your attack before you jump - and impossible to attack while climbing. There ya go NL like this so he sees it!

Hey NL, watching your Spelunky LP so far has left me with some irritable speculations. 1. Skeletons near level entrances will NEVER be 'alive', unless on a Restless Dead feeling. 2.You CAN whip arrows in mid-air, even if your whip is already extended (near end of whip animation). 3.The Web gun is an invaluable climbing tool, it creates makeshift platforms! 4.If the Jet pack is ever available, get it "at all costs". 5. Always buy at least one Gift wrap item, you may just get lucky!

Northernlion, Monty has four hearts, and things such as arrow traps that hit him only do one heart instead of two. He also does not take fall damage, thrown damage, and can not be hit by enemies with the exception of the man-eating plant.

Advice based on the PC version, so it may no longer be accurate for the new version, I'm not sure... but I THINK you can throw upwards by holding up (like you would to look upwards) while you hit the throw button.

Another tip from the PC version that may or may not apply to this one: in the PC version you could get the idols without triggering their traps by placing a bomb on the idol's pedestal.

tunnel man character IS in the pc version, and does have permanent pickaxe. but i dont know about the XBL version. the pc version doesn't have nearly as many unlockable characters though. only the tunnel man and the damsel, i believe.

Eh, i just know how hard it is to actually get these productions set up because i work with 3 other people in a studio setting up content for our channel... between getting sound levels correct, rendering, finding good content, and then being an impromptu boom for some of the live shots = lots of work -.-

Also, about the dog/damsel... I might be wrong, but I'm *pretty sure* that whipping him/her doesn't do any damage, but just stuns them.

Personally I feel this is Northerlion's little nitch..niche? (Sp might be wrong there) I feel that Indie games such a Spelunky,and Binding of Isaac,I feel this is where he really shines as a commentator. I facepalm every time Ryan hand carries the dog through the exit, then wastes a rope to get back up out of a pit, rather than dropping the dog down and letting it walk through the exit on its own. The common element here? Ropes. Ryan appears to think they're worthless.

NL, you can get to hell by defeating olmec and when he falls to the lava just stay on top of him. Then right before you fall to lava, theres a door that leads to hell. like so he can see!

The problem is Minecraft is still technically under production. It may 'claim' to be a finished product, but as long as updates are still actively being worked on that continue to change the game in drastic way, it's under production; likewise those updates are being distributed to customers who never played older versions. Mojang 'is' a company now, it just wasn't when production 'began'. And no worries, you were polite in your wording, so no offense was taken :3 I hope I came off the same way.

Northernlion, if I could made a suggestion. Always buy bomb boxes if you come across them early in a run. 12 bombs pay for themselves and they're cheaper now than they will be later in the game. :)
