Protip for killing 'grandfather' spiders. Find (or dig) a 1x1 hole and stand in it, the big spiders cant hurt you, but they will sit right above you. As long as you don't jump, you won't take damage, then just spam your whip (because it hits above and behind you) and you can wear them down extremely easily and without wasting resources.

If you have a jetpack in there, and its a 2 unit drop to get to shop, 1. get jetpack. 2. leave shop and jump instantly, the shopkeeper will pe pissed off. 3. RUN. 4. trick the shopkeeper guard on the next level into a pit or safe area. 5. enjoy your cleverness.

Advanced tip for you NL; You can cycle to a bomb to use it as a throwable. You can throw them without lighting them as an effective way to disarm traps. Then just pick them up again and cycle them back into your inventory. Unless they changed how inventories work in the HD version; I do not have an Xbox.

Hey NL Pro tip: if a shopkeeper has something you want and you don't have enough money, kill him. also if he has anything hat might be good, and a freeze ray, pick up the freeze ray and while he is walking to you freeze him and then jump on him. also if you can get claiming gloves, they are useful on killing shopkeepers on the black market, you just hang in the top corner, drop a few bombs and just avoid death.

Northerlion you can steal stuff from the shops without permanent shop keepers at the end of each floor. Just steal the item without killing the shop keepers and dont kill the shop keeper that will be at the next floor. Avoid him and escape the floor and then you are forgiving for stealing. BUT ONLY IF YOU DONT KILL THEM.

One tip NL: IMPORTANT! If you jump on a fire frog it can be THROWN before it explodes. This way you can avoid angering shopkeepers AND use frogs instead of bombs to open up paths.
