The difficulty in folding a piece of paper really just has to do with math. The limit is determined by the ratio between how thin the material in question is, and how large a sheet you have. Every time you fold a piece of paper in half, one of its dimensions is reduced by half, while its thickness doubles. If it starts out, say as a random example, 1/64th of an inch thick, folding it in half once will bring it to 1/32nd, again will bring it to 1/16th. A third fold makes 1/8th, a fourth 1/4th, and a fifth 1/2. The sixth fold, this pretend piece of paper is a friggin inch thick. The seventh makes it two inches thick. The 8th, therefore, would have to make it four inches thick. Now let's take a look at the other dimensions. To make the math easier, I'm gonna say this thing is 8 inches by 8 inches to start. Every fold cuts one dimension in half, and if we're being sensible we always fold the longer dimension - So every two folds cuts both dimensions in half. Which means two folds in, we're down to a 4x4 piece of paper, and four folds in we're at a 2x2. Remember that this is a quarter inch thick by now. Two more folds? We have a *cube of paper*. 1 inch thick, 1 inch long, 1 inch wide. Folding a piece of paper makes sense; folding a cube does not. That's kind of the long and short of it. This does of course mean that a larger piece of paper which is as thin or thinner as a normal one is more foldable, so the "7 folds only" rule breaks down. And obviously, I did not use actual paper dimensions, hence I didn't reach 7 folds before I had a useless cube of paper. We haven't even started talking about compression or bend radius. But boiling this down to essential essence, paper folding limits are just a matter of math and the consequences of exponential growth. It has nothing to do with strength, unless you're talking about hydraulic presses or other such absurd nonsense. Even then, you're more liable to destroy an object than fold it any further than "It's a damn cube now, what do I do". Tl;dr: egg ur dumb u can't fold brick stinky
