The lockdown at The Farmhouse continues. I get the Workshop cleaned up a bit. One of the sump pumps is starting to fail. Time to make homemade bread. Homemade burger buns from scratch. Some good Farmhouse cooking. Weather is about to change.

Hi Joe. I am from Bulgaria and here things are getting better. I don't know, maybe people get used to this state of affairs. My family and I are isolated far away, but we keep in constant contact with people from the cities and especially from the capital - Sofia. There are blockades at every entrance and exit from cities, villages and towns. Grocery stores continue to operate, but most of the products are gone. There is no toilet paper. In the near future, I think this will be the new currency (ha ha ha). Things like pasta, spaghetti, canned food, beans, rice, lentils, salt and sugar were the first to disappear. It also gave me the impression that all the nails, bolts and screws in the hardware were gone. Personal tip, Joe - stock up on candles, lighters and matches. You will need it. In large cities and their surrounding areas, electricity is available for about 1-2 hours a day. Be good to you and your family, Joe. Together as humanity, we will go through this!

When I was a little girl the grandmother of some friends of ours lived with her son and his wife and their five kids. She didn't have to do anything but make bread for the meals. Three times a day there was fresh bread or homemade bisquits on the table (all her sons came to their brothers for lunch because he was close to the job site). It always left an impression on me to see such a large, close knit family willing to spend so much time together.

Joe on the farm the basement floor was always wet for my folks. It was a old basement and they only stored canning down there and there was a shower. When Mike and I rented it from them years ago he went outside and brought dirt up and filled up probably 8-10 inches all around the house in the flower bed and landscaping. The basement literally dried up totally. We didn't think much about it until my mom came over one day and said what did you do down there. She noticed a difference immediately. It almost looks like they built your house on a spring. Love the show.....Keep healthy you two.....Hugs from southern Minnesota

We were laying fiber in old downtown Phoenix and ran into an abandoned concrete duct. It was about a 3'x2', thick and was not afraid of the biggest backhoe. No one ever saw anything like it before. The conclusion was it was used to vacuum documents from one building to another back in the 1920. We sent out a lot of emergency locate request before trying to get it out of the way. When it was opened up the inside was smooth. That was some tough old concrete! Glad what you are dealing with is not the same.

Hey Joe, I really enjoy watching the videos you post on all of your channels. It is nice to see the old style of cooking you do. How can you go wrong with butter. I see Chunky is still in his crate, are things getting better with him and the cats? That pork steak, Jacked up shrimp, and pasta looks tasty. I like to cook chili the day before we eat it. While you were moving wood from the truck, I kept thinking where is your wheelbarrow? When my daughters were young, back in the 80's we had a bread maker like yours. There would be nothing left after dinner. Nothing like warm bread and butter. I will stop now before I write a book here. Thank you for sharing your life with us, keep doing what you are doing.

Buy another planer, Joe. Give the hobby farm planer to your dad so it’s always there for him and get a new one for you. It’ll be better and newer of course and they may have brand new extra features you’d really like. You are at the farm more now so it would be great there. So treat yourself to a new planer, Joe! You deserve it. You’re such a great guy and I know no one more deserving then you! Always doing for others, thinking about them so you deserve it my friend. I know it would be of great use there in your new workroom which is by the way looking better and better every week. I like how you have all these projects all around and you do some of them as often as possible. Between projects and even in the middle you squeeze in a little clean up and find a new area to expose making the large workroom look even larger so you make us all feel a part of your work chores and even your projects too! The workroom is looking better all the time and soon it’ll be the grand workroom you’ve always wanted and we all want it too as we’ve been part of your journey for.a while now with more being added all the time. Like the fine gourmet kitchens of Europe you deserve.a workroom that’s fit for a master builder complete even with a brand new out of the box with more features you haven’t even heard of yet. Get yourself that new planer now as with all that wood lying all around you’ll be using it more than you realize now. Your new workroom will have everything you ever dreamed of as you’re being in the place with many dreams to build and ideas to explore. Joe, you need this planer even more than you think to complete every project you can think of. You know that you are becoming the man you always knew you could be and have the tools you need to carry out your projects. So get online and do some research and find a planer that’s best suited for all your needs today and all those of tomorrow! Try buying one right off the page and have it delivered. You will be happy you did it and you will pbe using it within days so why are you still standing there and still reading this? Pick up the phone again and please let it all work knowing you are giving yourself a gift of a well earned tool with many years of use for a man with many projects to do so stop reading this and get you new planer right now!!

My grandmother and I were the only two that liked red currant jelly. She had a few bushes and we'd get warm baked bread and butter with currant jelly on top and that might be our dinner. God she was a good cook/baker. She made her own apple butter and her own strawberry jam. I still remember the time you got your own wooden basket with those light wooden quart containers in them. We'd load that stuff up in the trunk and go berry picking. She canned her own apple sauce. She'd make some that was "chunky" because once again, she and I both loved it. Ice cold applesauce with a hamburger and we were in heaven. When she died, my aunt actually had her cast iron pans etc out on a yard sale. I bought them all plus other utensils she had.

@@NorthernSeclusion . Yes I know that feeling all to well. We pay our refuse twice because anyone under the age of 40 doesn't remember we voted on a tax some 30 years ago that pays for the service. And just last year city council only voted on another tax added to our water n sewage mileage to increase the refuse collection. And recycle mileage is paid for by all weather you do it or not. How's that for taxation without representation. Just through back diplomacy back to pre signage of The Declaration of Independence. But life is still good. Can't complain about that.

My sump pump went out just as we went into shelter in place. My plumber was here within an hour of calling him and replaced it👍🏻 It always runs 24-7, I’m so thankful.

There is nothing this man can't do! What an inspiration he is. I've known farmers who could do a lot of these things, but he takes the cake. Does anyone know what's up with the mobile home looking building?

I enjoy watching you prepare your huge portions of food, well, huge for two people. That was a lot of french fries! And the buns looked really good when you were buttering them. I could never eat as many starches as your do, but I would never have the energy to work it off like you do. You are a man of many talents.

Hey Joe! that island you made for the Farmhouse kitchen looks great. Old weathered wood makes great stuff. My mom had a twp piece wall unit that my cousin built her all out of weather barnwood. It's heavy as all get out, that's why he had to make it into two pieces, but that thing will probably last forever.

Joe, did you ever think of getting the water further from the house? It seems to me that you might just be recycling the water your pumping out back into the water table and seeping back in.

Just a suggestion joe, when you are breaking up the concrete in your workshop, please put a board up in front of your word burner, I would hate for a rouge piece of concrete to put the glass out, keep up the good work

That's really nice for Melissa after being alone so much, to come home to a hot fresh meal PLUS a lunch the next day? What a neat treat. Do the cats in the Cat House get to come out in summertime? Or will the new dog have to get used to them too?? That workshop is coming along nicely - all that space for wood storage, for your tools, for projects in process is amazing and you were SO right to put in the windows. Hey, free firewood from the pile is a very good thing. It's going to be really nice to get the 'curb' out but you'll get it done when the time is right. No worries. I am loving Picard. There are a lot of complaints but I disagree. It's fun to see the characters from old series in it too.

Hey Joe! Your homemade bread and buns look great. Those buns remind me a little bit of the homemade sour dough bread my mom and make every year during the holidays. The only thing is ours takes 2 days from start to finish to make. Nothing like homemade bread! :D
