I think the most inspiring part about seeing all these parts together is the sheer confidence you had early on. That will to keep practicing and learning even if people put you down for it. It’s amazing. But that comment about drawing things other than cats… oh that hits home lol. I’m glad you mentioned how easy it is to get stuck drawing one thing, because it does happen. Leaving that comfort zone can be hard, but even the smallest steps outside it can be beneficial.

@@Northflowo i started animating on frame cast you can post art there but you have to animate it in there so there was never any art theft and there where not that many people on there and they where all artists so nobody was ever mean to anybody because they either are or where a beginner so nobody ever said anything mean to me when i first started and one time i asked someone about a drawing they made and they used the limited animation tools to make a tutorial that definitely helped me improve and try drawing new things it’s super glitchy and the tools are very limited so it definitely isn’t perfect but for a beginner it can be great

I dont like telling people that something is bad because, for what it was, it was incredible. These animations for example, for what they were, were an amazing learning process. Most people say something is bad because they dont understand the true value of the creation at hand, and that comes out in a destructive way.

I started watching North back in 2015, and I’ll be completely honest. Back then, I wasn’t a big fan of her art. Now, I was way worse, but for some reason, I just wasn’t a big fan. I was subbed so that when a new MAP call was posted, I would be able to apply to them (with my old deleted channel). I’m not sure why, but I REALLY wanted to be in one of North’s MAPs when I was younger. I can’t fix you was the final map I applied to before giving up, and my old channel was deleted in 2018. Even though I no longer had my old channel, I was still watching North’s video and I have to say- I’ve grown to really love her art. She has improved SO much and I’m glad I was able to see her grow as an artist and animator. If you’re seeing this, North, Thank you for being an inspiration to me

(Geez, this is already a year old?) after I saw this, it encouraged me to not give up on my animation. I have wanted to give up- I have not been working on it for weeks- I wanted to get it perfect. But you showed me that art is not supposed to be perfect, it’s supposed to always improve over time. I will continue to work hard on my animation, I will keep working, even though I am new to this I will improve. Thanks for this awesome video!

As someone who wants to get to the beautiful world of animation I find this really inspiring, your animation and art have improve so much through the years and now both are fantastic, It gives me hope, I'm starting with animation and the most of it just look weird and inconsistent but now I know that if I keep practicing and doing it I could get to be maybe as good as you are, It's really inspiring and I think that your old animations are also very good considering that you were making them with a mouse and movie maker. I've been struggling with the fact that my art and animations aren't as good enough as other artists, especially those around my age that draws better. I feel really ashamed of posting my drawings on social medias, I was afraid no one would like it or something jshdh- but seeing that improvements can take a really long time and isn't easy for every artists gave me hope and told me that I should just continue drawing and improving for myself, I'll get there someday, patience and the courage to keep going despite all the negative comments received is just needed ^^ Thank you for posting this!! I loveed seeing all of these map parts, as I'm starting out with animation. I never though of using scratch to Animate. Probably it would be better to use a table or iPad to draw the stuff, but then Scratch would be useful for putting them with sound, since I use Procreate to draw, and I can't figure out how to add sound.

Tbh, I get discouraged from drawing humans just like she used to. Drawing humans is not only complicated, and a whole new anatomy I have to learn, but it’s also very easy to make look uncanny, and I’m just not used to hating the way my drawings turn out. Anyone got advice for this?

im still learning, but somethibg tahts helped me with drawing humans is to kind of... ease yourself into drawing humans by starting with characters that arent *quite* human, but have humanoid traits. if youre familiareith drawing other aniamls, youll get the hand of anthro characters quicker, and if you get the hang of anthro characters, then youll get the hang of humans quicker. AKA if youre just starting out and are ashamed to fuck up just draw a lot of furries i guess.
