As a Northlane fan who discovered the band with Alien and Talking Heads song, I listened to this and first 30 seconds I thought "oooh no, why did they do this??" - then the second half of the song fucking smacked me in the mouth. Holy shit this is good.

Anyone who complains that this isn't Northlane anymore, or don't like the direction the band is taking - you can always go and listen to those bands that release the same songs and albums over and over again. Music is about evolution, it's about the journey and the stories that it tells. Can't wait for more new material from the band! You guys are revolutionizing the genres! I absolutely agree and I will always have Node as my favorite album of the Genre. However, I always imagine how their evolution would sound like if it went much more into the, you know, "organic" kind of direction

I think both styles were appealing at "that time in music". As you said music needs to evolve and I think Adrian definitely did a lot for Northlane in that time period, and Singularity is still one of my favorite of all time. It did take a while for the new style to grow on me, but I wasn't as open minded previous as much as I am now with this new style, which has this Matrix, cult movement feel to it. Definitely can't wait to see them in August

@Wes Borland I became a Northlane fan after Mesmer, then a a HUGE one after Alien. Ive listened to the pre-Marcus material with Adrian due to the constant adoration I hear of it. And quite honestly, its average early 2010s prog metalcore at best. There was a thousand bands at that time making music that sounded just like it and it honestly feels so souless listening back on it now in my opinion. Northlane have really come into their own right now and have a really unique driving sound thats very in the moment. It really boggles me how much people tout the first 2 albums so much. They were so meh

This is NO judgment or dis on this bands talent or style, but personally I'm not all that into the edm sound. I do enjoy the electronic elements in their songs usually but the specific sound of the fast edm beats that last the whole song isn't really for me. Absolutely LOVED Plenty and Carbonized though. I'm sure there will be other songs like that to coming soon. Still an amazing band!
