Yeah it's nice when featured vocalists don't just get one block of the song, when they're actually integrated into it and trade parts with the regular members. Always makes it more memorable. Kind of like King For a Day by Pierce the Veil, even if you don't like that song it's a masterclass in how to incorporate a featured vocalist.

This goes beyond my expectations. I've been obsessed with Northlane since the last decade, and more than the sound, the self-aware lyrics stood out more. In all the albums that they've released, I have consistently found music and lyrics that deliver a message that I must understand for my own evolution. Miasma is in keeping with that tradition, and I find power and catharsis in it.

PWD did heavy, almost exclusively heavy for a decade. Sorry, but this shouldn't be an indication of that band's output 🤷 Northlane looked as a band that influenced their earlier sound and got that exact vocalist to do a feature. But Winston's take on it will be "listen to the old albums.. or just come see us live". They still play TONS of older shit live. It's always super fun for a band when their tastes are being dictated to by people with free Spotify and KZbin access.
