Thank you much for this video. It's awesome video that taught me; and now i can fix charging port iPad Air 2 A1567. I love soldering now. I also had fix 2 iPad Air (1st gen). This is my 1st in my entire life. I admit that i did screw up as kept losing pins,mpads. But now i dont ang pads/pins. Yay!!

you should invest in a tristar tester, i usually just run it after a dock replacement on ipads before testing it in the housing. Usually saves some time if it did need another reflow from the iron

Depending on usage / temperature set and how well the tip is maintained. I usually change tips every 6 month.

Hi Boss, I love your videos. One quick question, I have iPad 2 showing no sim, when I check sim detect pins they are fine, however all 6 sim reader contacts seem to show a short even after disconnecting from motherboard, did I do right to order a new reader? 👍🏻

Short after disconnecting the reader, means reader is not the problem. You need to find the short by reading the schematic / board diagram and testing

NorthridgeFix The short is on the reader when connected or disconnected, I just wondered if this was normal, there is no short at the connector on the main board without reader installed.

I have an electrical engineering degree and before engineering school i had the interest in fixing Tv's and VCR's. Books were my only source back in the late 90's. You have to train with a reputable repair shop. Someone who know what they're doing.

This is why I hate Apple! If you took it into the Apple store, they would either sell you a replacement or a new Ipad. A new Ipad would cost about $1K. Not sure how much replacements are. But, if you charged $200 for the repair, the customer get his Ipad back to working condition and another 2-3 years use, assuming he doesn't drop or water damage. The only "waste" is the old charging port!
