Your content is under-rated and under-viewed. What you're doing here far exceeds any traditional teacher's capabilities to be able to inform and show real-world situations for those interested in modern repair techniques and capabilities. Great job, especially staying calm and collected while facing bathroom medical repair of devices from people who've only managed to do more harm to their devices, than good.

Amazing skill and expertise. That is what it looks like a professional solder tip in action... When you tinned the ripped pads again. The blob 'glued' in the tip at that speed was a show apart. bravo.

I appreciate your practicality, but that's a lot of ground and probably 5V power pads to miss out on a charging port, especially for ipad. No doubt the ipad works again for now but now the remaining pads have to take the extra current to make up for many missing ones. 90% of the time this won't be a problem but I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining pads burn out eventually from having to carry so much extra power. I will generally skip a few ground pads here and there, don't get me wrong, but this seems like a lot

Friends had one of these iPads, the charging port has issues. The pins in the port are just fine, but it still doesn't connect right unless something is placed under the charging cable prying the cable in a upward position right near the port. Once it's propped up it connects. I told them to just prop it up, charge it up when not in use. It's a work around without opening it up and replacing the exact part you did. Not saying I couldn't replace the port, I do have the tools, it's just it could be a costly repair and the pad is not worth it, even though that's the only issue it has.

For removing solder mask I personally using electric nail file that I bought at the Dollar Tree .it's not powerful so it doesn't remove anything other than the solder mask.and you could get diamond file bits a out as small is a exacto knife

I tried buying the parts from local shop, but sadly all of connectors I bought for ipad air 2 had no holes to transfer the flux from the pads on the logic board onto the connector pads. Does anyone know how to solder the connectors even without holes on the pads? Many thanks in advance
@hasserecht36784 жыл бұрын
The person saying the stuff about the Glass Fiber pen is somehow right. But you will remove the soldermask not only from the trace. Therefore you will have to reapply soldermask to the exposed parts you are not going to solder on. More work, less risky. I think it won't apply to your business since it would cost more for the customer. But i don't see any problem with your method since you seem pretty trained with the blade :).
