Love the stun and lock in place on 10 momentum. Super flavourful for a speedster. Activate the special and then start wailing on them before they can even "react".

Reverb seems cool. Would have been a great add to Spider-Punk! Northstar seems interesting! A question tho from 17:06 , since his sp1 inflicts a slow, does that prevent him from gaining momentum from an evading skill opponent, or does he still gain the momentum since the evade is attempted ? Seems a little counter intuitive, but the benefit in either case is nice for covering Bullseye and Stealthy/Elsa alike; i.e. increase momentum ramp or locking down evade

I covered this in another comment, but you're exactly right - he either prevents the evade or ramps. The intent is not to pop all the way off like Falcon (since momentum is not subject to diminishing returns, mind you), but just to allow him to get more control in fights where he's having trouble holding onto it. Combine that with his sig, and he's very tanky after the opp evades, too, so it works out pretty well.

I was expecting a different vibe than quick silver for the second Speedster but it gives off the same vibe. Quicksilver fell off pretty fast so lets hope this guy sticks around a little longer

@@Daddylonglegs93 hey man i respect your opinion a lot on things, but didn't a lot of people give up on QS just because of his janky combo, and because of his slow buildup , overtime he was just reduced to a bgs defender with occasional attack value. Heck I was one of those people that got them from the featured crystals and took him up as high as I could just cause he's quicksilver but there's just something that feels boring about him, can't bring myself to play with him anymore. As far as the comparison with Northstar the janky combo part was the thing I was referring to, but it's just a crude comparison.

People deciding not to play him and him falling off are not the same thing at all. Even just looking at BGs, he's underrated as an attacker and the availability of the 7* is proving that, but also, I really cannot stress this enough - there are other game modes - and he did not lose even the slightest bit of value in them.

@waynewayne8419 "underrated" and "worse than Silk and Titania in raw damage output" are not mutually exclusive. That's moving the goalposts a bit. My point was just that he does work in BGs when he's not punching up and is great elsewhere, and I stand by that firmly.

Yup. Keep in mind it's not flat ability accuracy there, so 20% becomes 26, not 50, but it's still very good

Wasn't sure how it would have worked but was really hoping for Northstar to have a sort of prefight ability or something where you can do normal single hit basic combos. Instead of the multi hits. Just for the basic combo. Will have to see how it feels to play when Northstar officially joins the Contest.

Lol bluntly there's no way in hell. That'd be double the work for the art team and lots of extra work for design and balance for far too little payoff. The combos are not that bad. Turn on the tracker.

@@Daddylonglegs93 yea I imagine with single hit basics, it would requires abilities in the kit to compensate thus making the kit that much longer and so on and so on. Keeping an open mind, will snatch the 4 star from the arena soon enough.

wow…. this dude seems SO much fun in longer fights. ramping up with those SP3s really sounds like it’ll do a lot for him. just curious, does northstar gain the momentum charges if the opponent attempts to evade while slowed? or does the opponent have to successfully evade for him to gain the momentum?

They do have to successfully evade, yeah. It's meant to punish evades he doesn't have under control.

If I had a dollar for every speedster in the game that was best in long fights, I’d have 2 dollars. Jokes aside, sounds really good. Guardian and Sassy are some of my fav champs so it’s cool that another Alpha Flight member is just as good
