How many chickens do you have? How many eggs do you get each day? Mrs. Betty wants to start with 6 chickens this spring. Is that enough?

We have 19 - they provide kore eggs than we can eat. We had a 7 layers for a couple of years, they kept us in eggs in the summer, not so much in the winter. Depends on how many eggs you eat. If I remember right 7 birds provided 3-5 eggs per day in the summer, and significantly less in the winter. Our eggs froze in our old coop while we worked due to the set up so my memory is hazy.
