Excellent comparison video. Which of the two stones you enjoyed more? Please share some conclusions / observations. As a recommendation, you can also share some of your thoughts at the end of each video. Thanks for the great content once again.

Hello, Stefan! Thank you for your multiple sharpening videos! In many of your videos you are running the blade of the knife over the stone before you start sharpening. What is the intent? Is it to smoothen small chips over before you start sharpening? Thank you in advance!

I like the india more. Can you teach us plateau sharpening? I'm getting interest of it.

Coarse crystolon and fine India.

another like from me! IS this better than india stone? I know it says the india is better for a 'fine' edge, but fast sharpening is also attractive. If you could only choose one, which one would it be, india or crystolon, thanks stefan for your time teaching us

I have more interest to hear you conclusions than watch the sharpening. By the sound of the paper it sounds like the India gives a more refined edge. Is the crystalon faster and if so is it by a significant amount? I use India combination stones all the time and I'm wondering wether to get a coarse crystalon for faster material removal bit they are not cheap here

Unfortunately Stephan has passed away last year. He will be missed. He responded another comment saying he prefers coarse Crystolon and fine India. I expect Crystolon to cut faster because silicon carbide is harder than aluminum oxide but no idea if the difference is worth the money. I got the Norton JB8, it's softer than Crystolon. Can't compare speed but it's a lot cheaper and cuts really fast. For hogging off steel it's one of the best stones I have along with Carborundum 120 /320

@thiago.assumpcao Жыл бұрын
