He rode to the top of the climb & then rolled home slowly while the rest of the bunch went on to ride 100km. Nothing that impressive about a 13 min effort at about 350W. I have't seen the clown post a ride with an average speed faster than 27kph all year or a ride longer than 40km & he's still crapping on about how fast his old bikes are compared to the new ones.....

It’s just physics. Less weight = faster times. NOBODY going faster on disc vs rim all things equal.

Best time on the SL8 is about 1 min slower than the SL2. Weight, stiffness, road feel and no rotor rub matters!

Would have been at least 100 riders on the climb. About 45-50 in our group. My 13:18 got me 7th place on the day. Over 350 strava entries that day. On the SL8 Sworks would have been 14:05ish. When I don’t care about performance I ride the disc. When I care about every second then rim brake is a no brained decision.

I do this ride on my Merida Scutera 100.. it’s a tough slog up the hill on this entry level bike but for the love of riding it does the job. I’ve ridden 20,000 kms on it. Can’t push as hard as you guys, I average 4wpkg. Funny but I was actually planning this ride today but was too lazy to take my bike off the Zwift trainer.. would love to join some time 💪🙏

@ heavy. I did a gravel race on a MTB. Did the same power as my mate on a gravelbike. He went 2kph faster than me. Even with fast rolling tires and a fairly light mtb.
