Norway has earned enormous sums from the energy crisis in Europe due to the war in Ukraine. We supply electricity and oil, gas to Europe. In Norway, this is seen as war profit, which is something we do not want to spend on ourselves. It is this money that we send back to Ukraine. The prices of energy were extremely high in Europe and therefore we earned much more per KW or per liter of oil than we normally did. There is great support among Norwegians for helping Ukraine. When Germany invaded Norway, the Soviets sent us help and those who came were from the Ukrainian part of the Soviet Union. We owe Ukrainians a lot from that time. They are our cousins

Could you please provide some evidence for that it was only people from the Ukrainian part of the Soviet Union that helped us under WW2?
@johnsmith-de3tlКүн бұрын
nah, they didn't help at all, they came in as germany burned their way south, stole everything not nailed down and left. and war profit? we didn't blow up our own pipe line, or shut down all our reactors. we didn't make gas the price point for power, something we pay for every month. the eu can kick rocks, pay us our money.

Not true. Norway does give some, while profiteering from the war. Besides that, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have given far more respectivly. That is not to say Norway have not contributed, just not as much as this video claim and no way near how much they as war profiteers should. Edit: Honorable mention is how much the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have contributed.

Hello. A nice video you show. I am from Norway and will give you some facts. Norway has a border with Russia. Norway is not a neutral country. Norway helped start up NATO, and finally, Norway is the richest country in the world, so that Norway has given a lot of money is correct, but compared to what Norway has earned from this war, it is almost nothing. The fact that Norway was able to provide so much weaponry is due to the fact that it happened that Norway had started to renew its own military and was able to provide much of the old equipment. Don't think Putin will forget this anytime soon
@jeschinstad2 күн бұрын
Norway's contribution to Ukraine is not limited to war. That's limited by GDP. But when peace is secure, we have money to invest in peace by our fund. Once Norges Bank can come in, that is where the really big money is. USA has a lot of military power to donate, but they don't have a strategic investment fund. Norway does and it's larger than China's.

Norway's army is not that strong because most of our soldiers are civilians and don't count until they have to be, but they have been trained. But we have a strong defense industry. We think necessary evil is still evil and we don't celebrate it, but we do have the capacity to provide significant amounts of necessary evil. We just don't want it to be necessary because our focus is on peace as the final solution.
@kjetilhvalstrand10092 күн бұрын
First of all, Norway is not known for being neutral, its one of the first countries in NATO, has taken part in many NATO operations around world. it might confuse some that we do not unconditionally support Israel, by the way Isreal is not part of NATO. And don’t confuse naturally, with not having any interests outside of Norway. I believe we spoke out against the IRAQ wars, we were not neutral. On Afghan and Libia operation we did take side with USA. Norway have also been part of FN operations around the world.

This was a bit silly. Norway aren’t doing anything that other NATO/EU countries haven’t done. But we are doing one thing differently. We are making insane amounts of money on this war. Way more than we are donating. Slava Ukraini!
@SungamtonКүн бұрын
We're not making an insane amount of money on the war Putin started. We're making an insane amount of money because of poor planing by European politicans that thought becoming dependt on Russian gas and oil was a briliant security strategy for Europe. Turned out it wasn't and suddenly Norway had all of Europe hammering on our door screaming for gas and oil. We didn't start the war and we didn't trick the rest of Europe to buy energy from a guy that has made it clear for over 20 years that he hates the West... As for Norwegian donations to Ukraine, the war isn't over and Ukraine isn't rebuilt, so exactly just how much Ukraine will have recived from Norway when this is over is still unkown.
