I'm visiting Tromso and Nord-Lenangen next summer. This is on the list of hikes to take, along with Blavatnet. So excited!

Good stuff...actually tried to hike to this lighthouse today but had to turn back due to the very windy and wet conditions, not good along the shore path with small children! Pretty muddy and slippery...Got close enough to snap a photo of the lighthouse though, hope to try again sometime. Great video! 👍

Thanks buddy :) yes even in summer it could be a bit of a challenge - but it is every effort worth!

I really enjoyed the video, I liked the history party, I like when you give mention dates 1993, and what the cabin used for. And when it was built. Also, OMG the candles, the scenes you made it at nights with the lights of candles. This sure make the place very cozy , the cooking part…the morning breakfast, (even though it was 1 second) xD You really made my mood soo happy. Again, thank you greatly for this kind of videos, please keep up your fantastic work.

That is so cool! I love that cabin - and it looked like an awesome place to spend a night. Don't think I'd want to stay longer than that actually, but one night looked amazing. Can't stay away from my comforts too long! ;D

You should Three Star! Oh yeah its very nice with some close friends or a partner ansd just to catch some down time... There have been artists that have come here and stayed for a month or more to gather inspiration for their projects.. I wish I had my didgeridoo to take to this cabin... Next time

@@northandbeyond Sounds absolutely brilliant. If I ever start writing that novel that everyone always wants to write, I should pack a bag and go live there. No distractions, just solitude and introspection. ...The novel would probably end up weird as hell...

Superb find. The lighthouse is clearly too small to live in. Do you know where the lighthouse keeper would have travelled from each day and how far would that have been? Looking forward to the completed dog sled story.
@northandbeyond3 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah its surely too small for full time living but for up to a couple of months would be doable... The biggest setback would be fresh water availability, one would have to bring that from a stream on a regular basis... As i said this was originally the oil storage shed. There is a small village nearby where we started the trek to the lighthouse. its about 7-8km away the lighthouse keeper would have been living there and hiked the trail each day. Ahhh the Dog sled.... Im very excited about this.. its 98% complete now...

this is great !! enjoyed the history lesson too. The wind must be horrendous on a bad day; can't imagine people living in the region permanently. I missed the name of the people who historically lived there; can you let me know please? looking forward to your dog sledging ....

The indigenous people of the the north up here are called Sami, they were in the whole area of northern Norway, Finland, Sweden and the the North west of Russia. There are the coastal Sami and the Reindeer Sami. ... The wind in a storm is horrendous the cabin is actually bolted to the rocks.

Hello, nice video ! I would love to hike to this place but with some friends, how much people can fit inside according to you ? Was it really cold inside ? Thanks !
@northandbeyond3 жыл бұрын
Hei, thanks Romi! I think 4 people is maximum. The cabin has an old wood oven, either you bring wood with you or your pick it on the shore. It's really an truly amazing place to stay!
