This game understands what makes bugs so creepy, and it's the speed. You see a spider in another game, they skitter up to you at about maybe 10 MPH. But spiders in real life often move so fast you can't keep track of all their legs. It blurs, your mind can not fully comprehend, and thus fear takes over.

Insect wildlife seems exaggerated, but as someone who hiked in Kola during summer, and had a misfortune to make a 1-day stop in the swamp, the game captures the feeling very well. In the morning tent was covered in things I've never seen before and hope to never see again

I can confirm that insects in norwegian nature always follow a weird balance. Innland has endless amounts of mosquitoes. The shore has "knotter" and ticks, with the exception of the Oslofjord. That's where everything bad converges insects wise.

Tip: you don't need the full damage of the sling after several rotations for all insects, some just need one or two like the mosquitoes
