14:48 A good example of "something we call a certain way despite not truely fitting" is white chocolate. It's made out of Cocoa butter (which is made from the bi-product of extracting the cocoa solids) and other non-cocoa related ingridient but contains no Cocoa solids like any other type of chocolate, but we still call it a chocolate.

4:20 Regarding your question of Hammerfell and its proximity to Lillehammer, you aren't entirely in the wrong. While here in the north of Scandinavia / Skyrim which many of the newer generations call our land, we have given Hammerfell a new local dialect name of Hammerfest (many make the mistake of directly translating to Cyrodilic resulting in them getting "Hammerparty" which is not correct).

The brand name is TINE, pronounced "T-né" (as in the letter T + né). Every Norwegian has grown up on this stuff. I've practically eaten it every day of my life. If you eat it on bread with butter, I highly recommend to add some jam on top. Pairs particularly well with black coffee too. You can use any bread, but personally I find dark, sourdough rye to be the best - if you can find it. Brown cheese is loaded with sugar, but also with iron, protein and fat (good milk fat, in my opinion). You can also add brown cheese to brown sauces - it gives a special tang.

In Norway we like to cut brun ost with kind of a carrot peeler. Little bit bigger than a normal vegetable peeler but it’s the same purpose. Than you have to try it on freshly baked waffles with butter and/or bringebær (for me it’s definitely the “and”) jam. It’s really good
@Herr_Gamer
@Herr_Gamer 3 жыл бұрын

Ever since I took Culinary Schooling last year, I've been looking for all sorts of weird and interesting cheeses to try. Never got further than Roquefort Bleu, though since it's hard to find weird stuff locally. Roquefort is interesting though. It exists simply because some guy in Roquefort France dropped some picnic cheese in a particular cave one day, came back weeks later, saw the cheese with blue mold and was like... "Yeah. I want to eat this."

Uncle E saying that he likes brown cheese makes feel proud for some reason as a Scandinavian/Norwegian viewer. Its so different then regular cheese but like he said which is true not very intense flavour. Its just right :)

I had to sub. I like this channel. He reminds of a character youd see on the Myst game series, if you're old enough and nerdy enough to know what im talking about. Pretty likeable😁
