Paul Madden introduces this vessel designed and built by Ulstein in accordance with the demanding requirements for silent operation in all oceans as a seismic research ship. The vessel features a compact and efficient layout, providing a comprehensive arrangement of mechanical outfitting, with a highly flexible, redundant and powerful propulsion and machinery package. It is Ice-Class C for operation in ice.
The vessel is built to Det norske Veritas Class + A1, Ice-C. E0, Heldk., and to international rules and regulations as applicable for the subject type of vessel. Further the vessel satisfies IMO Res. A 468 (XII) as a general maximum noise level in laboratories and related areas. Special consideration has been taken from design stage and through out the building program in order to minimize hydroacoustic noise generated by the vessel. All major rotating machinery installations are resiliently mounted, and vibration characteristics of the steel structure and hull is made without interference from machinery and propulsion plant.
The voluminous interior is set up to accommodate 56 crew and staff in spaces that can easily be converted to include a massive owner's suite and large guest suites. The Toy & Tenders garage is over 8,000 s.f. with high overhead to house a variety of specialized equipment.
