Harr Travel We are looking at June 2021 to Bermuda. We sailed on the inaugural Bliss Alaskan sailing June 2018. Loved the experience, but I learned I am not a cold weather cruiser. So I was glad to see the Joy is going to Bermuda (we’ve never been to Bermuda).

I love your videos! Very useful. Spent seven days aboard the Joy and really enjoyed the time. One thing that disappointed us was that nearly every other restaurant was additional cost. Outside of the buffet, only 2 other restaurants (Taste and Savor) are included, and those serve pretty much the same buffet items. All of those cool restaurants are quite expensive. Wish you would highlight what is included vs. what is additional. Finding out in person upon arrival ruins part of the overall experience.

Oh, I forgot the Manhattan is also included, but also serves what appears to be modified buffet items. The 50’s diner remained empty all cruise because it charges extra for a burger that you can get for free from the buffet. Seems like a waste of a fun space. Burgers and fries should really be included.

Don't forget the Main Dining Room (although that also is similar to Taste / Savor). Most of our guests end up choosing the specialty dining as one of their perks, so at least 2 dinners are free at one of the specialty restaurants. But we definitely see your point, and that is one of the reasons we like Royal better in some circumstances. In general, more is included in your base fare.

Really beautiful ship! So cool! Great decor and design.... Oh how i wish they have the Thermal Spa...like The ones on the NCL Escape And Bliss and Breakaway...it’s a cool Sanctuary to get away from The crowds and all and it’s awesome to get ur physical and mental state while on vacation to get full Relaxation...it’s fun! But hey this ship is still amazing! Even though it doesn’t have the Thermal Spa and suites.

The Mandala Spa does have an additional wing where they have the more relaxing elements that you seek. Ironically the reason we couldn't go in and film the saunas and massage rooms was there were people in there relaxing.

Oh not on this one, my friends was just on this few weeks ago and they were disappointed to find out that they didn’t have the large Thermal Spa Whirlpool and jacuzzis and such...plus the lounge area where u can relax and no snow rooms and salt rooms just like the ones on the Bliss and Escape... Hey Danny, thank you for your videos. They are so helpful. I do have a your question that I am not sure if you have the answer to it or not. I am looking to book 2 connecting interior family rooms on the joy for next April. And I am trying to figure out if those rooms may have the Pulman beds that are mounted to the wall or come down from the seal. Is there anywhere I might be able to find this information based off a room number or room class? Or is it just random?

I believe all of the interior family rooms have Pullman beds. So if the Occupancy is 4, that is what you will get.

Cruised 5/21-5/28 the joy to NYC-Bermuda the cruise was a terrible experience completely disorganized and pourly run. Its been 5 months and they still owe us 3,500$ in refunds from group deposites and booking credits. From the very start the boarding experience was chaos. Just mobs of people being told the wrong information over and over. People being yelled at by staff for doing things other staff members told them to do. No organized line systems or anything. The food was not good at all. One of the main reasons we book Norwegian. The food at the buffet was mostly over cooked or mushy, a few people even got sick from the buffet. The main restaurants were not much better and only open form 12-1:30 for lunch. The specialty dinning was never available due to the fact people were making multiple reservations for the same day and then canceling the ones they don't want last minute. No regulation at all. We were never able to book things as a group. The one dinner we were able to book ahead of time, when we showed up they didn't know anything about our reservation. They told us we could only sit in tables of 8 and there were clearly other groups with tables of 12. All the tables were suppose to be together but they were separated by massive pillars and walls completely isolating 3 of the tables all together. The laser tag was only open for 2 hours per day and weather permitting. When I tried to book the group they said they needed the room number and the fact that I booked as a group didnt mean anything. I explained I was the group leader and asked for a list of the rooms in my group and they told me thats private information. They said they couldn't accommodate us at the go karts either. But doesn't seem like we missed out sine an electric shopping cart moves faster. The entertainment was really bad. Footloose felt like a high-school production. Most people were falling asleep or walking out after 20 minutes. They messed up several people's reservations in my group and kept sending them to talk to different people but no one ended up helping them. Several people told me I was gonna have a butler and when I went to set it up I was basically laughed at and told I only get a concierge. The "Concierge" that I was assigned was barley available and when they were they would direct me to talk to someone else. I talked to so many long time Norwegian cruisers and they said it was hands down the worst cruise they have ever been on. Some of them have been on more than 30 cruises. Even the staff was apologizing for how crappy it was. This was our wedding cruise. I am so embarrassed. I told all my people how great and fun it was going to be. I told the how great the food was going to be. I told them how great the entertainment was going to be. I told them all the stuff I was told and it was a lie. The ship was not intended to be a family cruise ship. Nor was is designed for that level of open water. The ride was so turbulent. It was designed to be a gambling boat. It is nothing more than a slightly refurbished casino boat with a few pourly thought out and designed "family fun features". We really feel scamed, cheated and lied to about this cruise it was definitely not as advertised. And we are not the only ones there are thousands of people on social media with similar or worse complaints.

We were on the NCL Joy at Christmas for a family Christmas. WHY are there only 2 sets of elevators on this big ship - we were at the very front of the ship on level 12 with a balcony - our daughter & husband were on level 12 but at the very back and on the other side. Our grown grandchildren were on level 11 inside room closer to front of the ship - very hard trying to get together without the internet. Too time consuming esp when us grandparents are in our 70’s. We booked at the same time so why so far apart? I have never been on a cruise with only 2 sets of elevators - if you book on this ship get close to an elevator.

Alaska can actually be really nice in the summer. But keep in mind that places like Ketchikan are temperate rainforests. It rains almost every day, but the showers are very short and light most of the time.

The Joy is a great ship for teens. The teen club does tons of cool activities as well. The Go Carts, Laser Tag, and Galaxy Pavilion are at an extra cost but it's primarily to keep the crowds to a minimum. The Joy is a great ship to just relax on, so I think you are making the right choice.

Interesting. This is the 3rd video from you guys I watched. 1st one was Royal Caribbean... interesting fun ship geared toward the Caribbean. 2nd video was a Disney ship. I watched the most of your videos! You literally opened my eyes because I am blind. And I am really sad to hear that those ships are not very accessible for people with visual disabilities. This was the inaugural cruise from Seattle to LA. That being said, the ship was nearly at capacity. In our experience during the colder weather cruises the upper decks, and oceanfront tend to see less action. And... We try to choose the best times to tour all of the spaces with the least amount of people as well.

The pulse fitness center is included at no additional charge. And you can even schedule personal training but that is at an additional expense. There are some game areas around the ship, ping-pong, giant chess boards, etc. The do different bingo events, and even have a deal or no deal scratcher event that is much like bingo that everyone was really excited about on our last cruise. Many guests even participated every chance they got.

It will be an incredible ship for the Mexican Riviera! Lots of outdoor space, and great oceanfront dining and restaurants. We only made it a point to show all of the additional heaters and sheltered spaces because many ships aren't built with Alaska in mind. So when a ship comes out with so many features to keep guests comfortable outside in the cooler temperatures it's really awesome!

It depends on where they are sailing. Alaska 100% yes, Mexican Riviera probably not. They try to keep it comfortable.
