At 16:00 couldn't you have raised the camera end of the log and gotten more full length boards?

@mcsawmill on this case, no. The end of the log was an actual "L" and not a "taper." If I lifted it up, I would have been sawing completely diagonal to the grain. The boards would have been completely unstable and weak. If you think about the long grain "straws" being diagonal to the faces and only a few inches long, that would better describe it. I kept the long grain of that little log parallel to the cut line. I did end up getting a couple longer boards on the bottom. Worked out perfect for the customer. He bought all of both logs😁.
