I added a third log stop for shorter logs, and that was huge for milling valuable hardwoods. I also added a 3500 lb Harbor freight electric winch to the loading system in place of the hand crank one. I bolted an ammo can onto the top of the post because it is waterproof and put all the electrical for the winch inside so it can hold the remote control for the winch and the rv cable to hook to a deep cycle battery. Battery lasts all day and will load as many logs as you can mill. Milling hard Maple for furniture and some pine fence boards today snow or not!

I have the lm 29 and iv had it for around 7 years and unless you want to constantly be re leveling it add some extra blocks under it to help support it.

Thanks for the review - its been a while since you made this vid, however to keep the blade from damaging the shield, you could cover the inside of the shield right where the lower part of the blade is as that is where the blade is going to break. Maybe with some fiberglass or rigid plastic. Good luck.

I recently purchased the LM29 and noticed the pipe for the log dog and clamp does have end play. I pull the pipe towards the frame to take out end play and never had the log dog or clamp come off. Just want to pass along what works for me. I am thinking of putting a wedge she’d on the end so end play is removed all time.

Great review!! I’ve owned an LM29 for a few years. There isn’t much on KZbin about this model. Great job! I actually prefer the plastic covers over metal. I don’t have many blades come off, but half of them I’m able to re-use since plastic didn’t ruin it. I agree with everything he said. The low profile log dog needs some work. Or maybe I could rough up the metal bar it slides on to create more friction and bite. Huge Norwood fan here!! Thanks!

Thank you. I tried to make it as honest as possible, not knowing Norwood would post it on their channel also. :)

The LM 29 stands for 29” log diameter not 27”. I would recommend adding a second cam dog clamp. Mine used to come lose too when I was cutting and after I added the second one I no longer have that happen.

Hey there, ya I like that the mill can grow with my needs and it’s sturdy doesn’t wobble when cutting. Well thought out options and features makes turning trees in to usable lumber more of a pleasure than work. Thanks for sharing

How do they compare to wood miser
@NorwoodsawmillsDirect5 жыл бұрын
Hi John. WM makes nice mills. Norwood is THE leader in portable sawmill innovation … in fact, Norwood has over 50 patents (more than all the rest of the sawmill companies around the world combined). But you may ask, “What does that mean for me?” Norwoods are a lot faster and a lot easier to use because they’re equipped with inventions that no one else can offer (because they’re patented)… Only Norwood can offer you indispensable features like auto-locking sawhead, auto-locking blade guide, auto blade-lube, log-dog assists, log rest actuators, rapid dogging and rolling systems, etc, etc, etc… Equally importantly, Norwoods are the world’s most versatile sawmills … Norwood offers you the biggest selection of optional attachments. You can even upgrade from manual to hydraulics with the Norwood HD36! Again, you may ask, “What does that mean for me?”. It means you don’t get stuck with a sawmill that can’t grow with you as your sawing needs grow. Everyone’s sawmilling needs grow over time. Yours will too. You won't outgrow your sawmill with a Norwood!
