Robert Eggers was destined to direct Nosferatu. His style and craftsmanship fits the material better than any other filmmaker I can think of. We've seen many examples in history where it was the right place and the right time with the right people and the right ideas, stars aligned, and yet the project fell apart and we never got to see what could've been. This feels like a moment in cinema history where we got what could've been and I'm so freakin happy this movie was made.

I was a bit surprised you didn’t mention the musical score for the new movie, Cody. Robin Carolan, who-wrote the music for The Northman is probably one of the main reasons why I wanna see the film even more. I’ve been listening to it non stop since it was released and part of it kind of gives me ideas on what I’ll be seeing on film once I go see it and hear it on the big screen. It’s definitely suspenseful, ominous and creepy but also knows when to be haunting, beautiful and romantic sounding at times. The music reminded me a lot of Nosferatu (1922), Salem’s Lot (both 1979 and 2024 films), Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Shining, Insidious, The Nun, The Omen and The Last Voyage of the Demeter.
@kevinkingsland10393 сағат бұрын
Hey Cody, have you seen Shadow of the Vampire (2000)? It is hilarious, and dark with some artsyness from E. Elias Mehige. Nicholas Cage produced it. A concept film where Willem Dafoe plays Max Shrek (who is a REAL vampire). John Malkovitch plays F.W. Murnau who is so fanatically dedicated to making this terrifying film that he will sacrifice his cast and crew to an actual vampire. A bit dark comedy, a bit found footage, a bit mad genious film. And a bunch of great character actors in great roles, and I think Dafoe was nominated for an Oscar in this role.
@BUDDYCB42 сағат бұрын
Seeing Dafoe in that movie is what got me excited about him playing the Green Goblin for 2002 Spider-man….then they put him in the power ranger suit. WTF??

I hate the lust/love relationship they put in the Dracula/Nosferatu movies. The book is so awesome without having that. Either way, I've been infinitely hyped for this movie since I heard whispers of him doing it.
